“Passion,” I offered, and he quickly nodded.

“Never lose that passion. With that thought, I must rush over to another meeting.” Mr. Barlowe made a quick exit, and Aspen practically leaped on me the second she felt like she could be a little less than professional.

“Is this life?” I asked no one in particular.

“Celebrate?” Reed questioned, pointing back up the street where it looked like The Kings Line had actually opened. “Come on.”

I couldn’t think of a more perfect place.

The place where a proposal led to me falling in love.

DRAKE

“Okay, so whose tab am I putting this on,” Aspen announced as she placed the last drink on the bar. She’d started working here about a month ago, surprisingly making enough so she could stay in the apartment she and Cassie lived in.

Even with the rent increasing.

Probably because her boss paid her well.

It was true.I didpay her well.

We hadn’t told Cassie yet, but Reed and I had bought the bar.

Just last month.

We’d been spending a lot of time there the past few months. We were getting older, and we were looking less at nightclubs and hookups, and more for a place where we could catch up with our friends and enjoy some music and a few drinks.

So now, we meet at the Line.

The King’s Line.

“Here’s to Cassie,” I announced, holding my drink in the air. Our friends did the same, Aspen included, wide grins on everyone’s faces. “And to Seedlessly Yours.”

The glasses clinked, and a round of cheers filled the air.

“The place I’m going to come to get all my apology flowers in the future,” Sean announced with a laugh.

Reed nudged Cassie. “You hear that? Sean Walker is going to keep you in business, you won’t have to worry about selling to anyone else.” She raised her eyebrow, looking over at Sean who just rolled his eyes.

“These assholes think it’s funny because when I break up with someone, I send them flowers.”

Cassie narrowed her eyes. “How often are you breaking up with someone?”

He shrugged. “Maybe once a week.”

“No one talks about it, but the dating app he created was originally just a way to keep up with his dates, so he knew what time and where he was meant to be,” Bronson explained with a smirk. “Bastard turned manwhoring into a multimillion-dollar business.”

“And he still can’t keep a girlfriend,” Reed added, Bronson offering him a smooth high-five behind Sean’s back.

“Okay,” I announced loudly, grabbing Cassie’s hand and pulling her away.

She was amused.

She knew these guys by now.

They’d become a permanent part of our lives, mostly just to make sure we had everything we needed and to show their support while we finished with the court stuff and Cassie battled with her sleep.

I missed the club.
