It was the most settled I'd felt in days.

"You hate tomatoes and onions, right?" Brock asked her. She blinked up at him owlishly, apparently shocked by his question.

"Yeah," she answered, voice small.

"If there's anything else you don't like, just speak up. I'm ordering enough we can all pick at it," Brock answered absently.

"I hate tuna, otherwise I'm not that picky," she said. Her voice was almost awed and I realized she was shocked he remembered that small fact about her.

"We pay attention," I said quietly. "We want to know everything about you."

"Why?" That had Elias putting down his controller, a frown marring his face.

But I didn't need her answer. I moved her easily, shifting her so she was in my lap, not straddling me but her legs kicked off to the side.

"Let me get one thing straight, Macy," I growled. "You are worth every ounce of attention we give you. You're gorgeous, sexy as fuck, and haven't left our minds for a fucking second since you crashed into our lives. We took one damn look at you and decided you were ours. I don't want to hear a single damn thing about you not being worth it, being nothing special, or whatever that small-dicked prick tried to tell you about yourself. Do you understand me?"

My voice was hard but she didn't flinch from it. Instead, she nodded her head slightly as her eyes glistened with unshed tears. It was as if me telling her that gave her permission to relax. Her shoulders untensed and she ducked her head, chewing on her bottom lip.

This time, I let her escape as she shifted to see the TV again. The others hadn't interjected and Elias had his controller again, Brock his phone, but they both met my gaze and gave me a nod in agreement. They definitely approved and agreed completely.

She laughed as Elias was killed in one shot. He narrowed his eyes playfully and held it out.

"You think you can do better, princess?"

"Without a doubt," she laughed, openly this time, the sound carefree now that she'd allowed herself to relax.

"Oh, now we're shit talking?" he said, shaking his head. "I'll believe it when I see it. Now, I don't have pink armor for you."

"Pity," she deadpanned, snatching the controller he hadn't retracted and shifting even more, which had her rubbing over my cock that was already at half mast just from having her ass pressed to my lap. She gave me a teasing grin and shifted again.

Little fucking brat.

My chest warmed, I was loving this side of our girl.

She changed his player and loaded into a new round ofApexthen expertly found a cache of weapons. Someone landed nearby and she easily killed them before heading further into the map. I wasn't often into games but watching her gain confidence with each takedown had me watching every second.

Elias's jaw had dropped and stayed there in shock until she'd made it twice as far as he just had. Satisfied, she handed it back and tried to climb out of my lap. When I stopped her with a hand on her leg she sighed and snuggled in until she was comfortable, ignoring the raging erection I was not bothering to fight anymore.

We stayed like that in comfortable silence until the delivery driver dropped off the insane order Brock made. He unloaded it all onto the table and queued up a playlist over our speaker system. It was his usual dinner mix, a combination of all of our favorites and I couldn't help but wonder which songs she would add to the house mix.

The thought struck me for a second. Elias was right, this wasn't like me. I'd have a quick fuck but I didn't do relationships. I didn't trust people often. Maybe it was the kindred spirit I found in our girl or her personality that dragged me in, but for the first time in my life, I considered a future with more than just Brock in it.

My gut twisted as I looked at our captain. He had been my lover and friend with benefits for long enough we no longer tried to label it. I knew after having her in my lap tonight I'd need him to swallow down my cock later but what would our girl think?

As if he read my thoughts his brown eyes met mine and he smirked, knowing exactly where my head had gone. He shifted slightly, clearly agreeing with my train of thought.

"Holy hell," she said as her eyes roamed over the spread. Brock hadn't held back, ordering almost everything on the menu from our favorite diner.

"Pick or I'll load your plate for you, princess," he warned. She narrowed her eyes but did as she was asked, taking a half of a grilled cheese, a handful of fries, and two tacos.

"Take everything you think you might want to try, it might not be here long," Elias warned playfully. She just shrugged, biting into the taco with a groan. My cock strained even harder against my zipper and Elias cursed under his breath. Brock licked his lips and his eyes were full of hunger.

We had to stop this or she'd run far and fast.

"What job did you have before you came here?" I asked. She blinked over at me for a second at the random question but answered.

"Just a shitty office job," she admitted. "Not exactly what I'd planned but Luke wouldn't let me switch jobs. He'd mysteriously lose his job if I even looked at an application, so I couldn't risk losing the income."
