It was funny how opposite my best friend and I were. She was the dark to my light, the snarky to my sassy, the sarcastic to my sweet. Even in this, we were opposites, yet she nailed it. Everything was a mix of whites, grays, marble, and pops of pink. It was funny... I couldn't get rid of my color fast enough back then. It was a tie to my old life I wanted gone. Yet it was my favorite color and she was helping me reclaim it.

Yeah, I had the best friend in the world.

The Hawks were amazing. The rest of the team had embraced me and our not so normal relationship without question. They were like the brothers I never had.

"Thanks, Dad, this is incredible," I said.

"You deserve it, Mace. I'm glad you're here," he said quickly, clearing his throat to avoid more emotions.

He needed a subject change, and I had the perfect one.

“Where are the guys, are they almost done in the locker room?”

He shrugged. "You know them, they take a while, but they should be finishing up. What are you up to?"

"I have a surprise for them, but can you stick around because I have something I want to tell you, too." He gave me a calculating look but didn't press me for more. With a sigh, he turned and walked out.

I heard him open the locker room and call out to my boyfriends.

They walked into the room a few minutes later, grinning wildly when they realized what he'd shown me.

"Do you love it?" Elias asked.

"More than anything," I promised. "It's perfect." I looked around one last time to appreciate it, more for a distraction than anything.

It was insane how nervous I was to tell them. Mom was the only one I'd said it out loud to and I'd been to a few appointments. But this was a big deal and I wasn't sure how they'd take it.

Dad slipped out without anyone noticing and I walked around them before closing the door. Of course, Brock was the first to get a smirk on his face, his eyes heating as he stepped forward and captured my lips. When he broke away I let out a startled laugh.

"Princess, if you wanted us to fuck you, all you had to do was tell us to hurry home," he teased.

"Not everything is about that," I said before amending my words. "Well, I guess it does have a little to do with that."

Now they were confused and I was loving every minute of it. I held back my laughter as I backed away from Brock and turned around, letting my coat fall away and sweeping my hair out of the way.

“‘Mommy?’”

Tate's word was full of confusion. Clearly he hadn't processed what I was trying to tell him just yet but Elias had. He let out an excited yell and nearly knocked me over as he crashed into me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me close.

"You're pregnant, red?" he questioned before dropping to his knees. His eyes were wide as his hand skimmed over my stomach which wasn't even showing yet. "You're telling me we're going to be dads?"

I couldn't hold it back anymore, tears started to form in my eyes and spilled on my cheeks.

"Yes," I said quietly, chewing on my lip as I waited for the others' reactions.

I shouldn't have worried. Soon, they were all three kneeling in front of me, touching my stomach and looking up at me like I just handed them the world.

"You're going to be dads," I finally said the words out loud and let them hang in the air. Smiles spread across their faces.

"I love you," Brock said, his voice was choked with emotion and there was no sense of cockiness in his reaction now.

"Baby, I can't believe this is happening," Tate said. There was wonder to his voice. I think part of him was afraid to have a family of his own, his own had screwed him over so badly that it still had lasting effects.

I met his gaze and rested my hand on his cheek. "You're going to be an amazing dad. You'll give this baby everything you wish that you would have gotten."

"You're right, I will," he said. It was a vow.

Great, now I was choking back more tears. Pregnancy was wild.
