“I thought you said you weren’t angry,” Haruka spat out.

“I cast a spell. Master Zuberi and Protego fixed it. Everything is fine. Haruka and Mr. Sharp helped a lot too. It’s done. Everything is back to normal,” Primrose assured her.

Adora’s shoulders lifted as she took in a noticeably deep breath. Mrs. Sharp entered the room with a sandwich tray and placed it in the center of the table.

“Did you know about this madness?” Adora’s eyes were wide with shock.

“To a certain extent.” Mrs. Sharp nodded.

Adora put her hands to her face and ran them up through her golden blonde hair. She sighed and lifted her head, smiling.

“I’m grateful for your help in saving my daughter.” Adora looked at Master Zuberi and Protego.

The corners of Master Zuberi’s mouth turned upwards, and he bowed his head slightly. “Of course.”

What of the wedding? Her body felt faint at the thought.

Primrose’s chest tightened, voice shaking as she spoke. “What happened in Medio?”

Her parents glanced at each other before turning back to her.

“Queen Lilith and Queen Wilhelmina are in a cold war. They are not fighting by force but by trade and other quiet measures. This marriage is one of them, and Queen Lilith will be ensuring the marriage happens,” Bazz explained.

Master Zuberi shook his head in disbelief. “What exactly is she trying to accomplish?”

“Marrying him to a Mid-Terran royal ties him to Mid-Terra. She’ll have more control over him. North-Terra controls nearly all trade, but the more we can infiltrate it, the better off we’ll be,” Haruka said.

“So there’s no way out of it?” Sera asked. A solemn expression donned on her fair face.

“I’m afraid not. I’m so sorry.” Adora’s eyes were watery as she looked at Primrose.

“It’s okay.” Primrose smiled, a tear falling down her face. “I know you did your best, and it’s okay. I’ll survive this too.”

Haruka grabbed a sandwich and passed the tray around, everyone filling their plates. Looking into Protego’s vibrant red eyes, Primrose gave him a sorrowful glance.

“What are everyone’s plans now?” Bazz asked, still chewing.

“You can wait until you swallow your food before you talk, you know?” Adora scoffed at her husband. He smiled back at her.

“I met a woman in the south of Mid-Terra and I’d like to go back and see her again,” Master Zuberi said.

Primrose’s eyes widened with shock. “You have a girlfriend?!”

“She’s not my girlfriend. She’s the sorceress who provided us with the Rose of Sanitus. An old friend,” he beamed.

“Old friend or old flame?” One of Adora’s eyebrows raised in question.

“She’s both. I’m grateful for my years teaching Primrose and Sera, but I want to explore the realm some more,” said Master Zuberi, nodding.

Adora looked over at Haruka, who was stuffing her face with food, and cocked her head. “And you?”

“I wish to go wherever Sera goes...” Haruka said.

“Is that what Sera wishes?” Bazz asked, his red hair shining in the light, the same as Sera’s.

“I do.” Sera smiled.

“Then let it be so,” Bazz said, smiling in return.
