I smiled, shaking my head at his lavish generosity. Even now, it felt surreal having someone dote on me this way. With Draven, I was more than a poor florist or a means to an end—I was cared for, cherished. It was a new sensation, and one I could quickly grow accustomed to.

We continued browsing the extravagant dresses, Draven pulling out options left and right for me to try. His enthusiasm was contagious.

“What about this one?” He held up an elegant floor-length gown, ruby red with a plunging neckline.

I flushed, eyeing the daring cut doubtfully. “That’s a bit revealing for me...”

“Nonsense, you’d be stunning,” he countered. Seeing my hesitation, he added gently, “Just try it on. If you don’t like it, I won’t make you wear it.”

I nodded, taking the dress from him. Draven’s opinion carried more weight than my own self-consciousness. I trusted he wouldn’t steer me wrong.

In the spacious fitting room, I slipped on the red gown, the cool satin hugging my figure. Turning in the mirror, I had to admit—I looked good. Really good. The deep neckline showed a hint of cleavage I would normally never display, but…

Taking a breath, I stepped out to show Draven. His eyes lit up, traveling over me appreciatively.

“Absolutely breathtaking,” he declared.

I flushed under his ardent gaze, unused to such open admiration. “You don’t think it’s too much?”

“Not at all. But if you’re uncomfortable, we’ll keep looking.” His tone was sincere—he cared about my feelings more than seeing me in some revealing dress.

I considered a moment, turning back to the mirror. The old me would never wear something so bold. But maybe it was time to leave the shy florist behind.

“No, I love it,” I decided with a smile. “This one’s perfect.”

Draven grinned, pulling me in for a quick kiss. “I’ll take that as a yes to the dress, then.”

We continued in this fashion for a while—Draven selecting dresses, me trying them on, modeling for him to gauge his reaction. He was right—it was fun. I found myself relaxing, getting bolder in what I chose. With Draven’s encouragement, I tried form-fitting silhouettes, plunging necklines, high slits exposing leg. Looks I never dreamed of attempting before. But he made me feel beautiful in all of them.

“I think that’s enough dresses for now,” Draven chuckled after a bit. “We’ll be here all day at this rate. Why don’t we look at some jewelry next?”

He led me over to the glimmering jewelry counter. The attendant’s eyes bugged, recognizing Draven immediately. She stumbled over her words greeting us.

“We need something to complement the lady’s dress,” Draven explained, unfazed by her starstruck behavior. “Only the best.”

The attendant nodded eagerly, pulling out velvet trays of glittering gems—diamonds, sapphires, emeralds. She held up a heavy diamond necklace against my neck.

My eyes bulged. I leaned in to Draven discreetly. “Are you really going to get me diamonds?” I whispered.

He smiled. “Nothing less for my girl.”

I glanced back at the extravagant jewelry, hesitating. “It’s too much, Draven. I can’t accept this.”

Draven turned me gently to face him, meeting my eyes. “Elara, you deserve the world,” he said sincerely. “Please allow me the pleasure of spoiling you.”

My resistance faltered at the earnest look in his eyes. I knew this was his way of showing he cared. And so I nodded, conceding to let him buy me the lavish diamond necklace and earrings “fit for a queen,” as he put it.

Our next stop was shoes. Draven sat comfortably as I browsed the options.

“I don’t know how women walk in these things,” I laughed, picking up a stiletto heel. The thin spike wobbled precariously. Draven chuckled in agreement.

I selected a somewhat more modest pair of silver heels—high but steady. Slipping them on, I took a few experimental steps.

“Well?” I asked Draven. “What do you think?”

I exaggerated the sway of my hips as I paraded in front of him. He grinned, eyes drawn to my legs.

“I think you look hot,” he approved.
