“Plus,” Hailey added, “Mom put him through the wringer the other day. I mean, she interrogated him so thoroughly he offered her a job with his firm. She approves.”

Laura rolled her eyes. “I can’t believe he still wants to get married after that.”

Hailey laughed. “Mom loves him. Even Tom thinks he’s okay.”

As if saying his name brought him closer, their alpha swung his head around and stared at them. He gave Laura a thumbs up but glared at Hailey, who glared back.

“What is that about?” Laura looked from her sister to Stovall.

Hailey shrugged.

“Tom rarely gets in a huff about anything. What did you do?”

Hailey stood straighter. “Nothing important. Look, Laura, tonight is about you and your mate—my soon to be brother-in-law. Enjoy it.” Hailey’s wide smile looked mercenary.

“My, what big teeth you have, Grandma.”

Hailey wiggled her brows. “I’m no wolf. It’s supposed to be, hey, you’re sleeping in my bed. What? No. It’s too small.”

“Are you drunk?”

Hailey giggled. “Maybe a little. But I’m so happy for you, I deserve to be.” Then her eyes clouded. She blinked them a few times until they cleared, glancing with awe at Laura. “Remember, Sis, twins run in the family.” She winked and patted Laura on the arm. “Forget I said that. And don’t worry. I won’t tell. Your secret will be safe with me.”

Laura blinked and put a hand over her stomach. Her sister sometimes imagined things that came true. “Now?” Even with her birth control?

From across the room, Gerald’s gaze sought hers. Concerned, he started over.

“Not now. But soon.” Hailey kissed Laura on the cheek, then pressed a kiss to Gerald’s as she passed him before flouncing away with laughter.

“Is she drunk?” he asked.

“On happiness maybe.” Laura did her best not to shed the tears gathered in her eyes, so happy it felt unreal.

“Laura?” Gerald wiped a tear from her face and her wearing his favorite red sweater. “Have I told you how much I love you in red?” He leaned closer and whispered, “Or nothing at all?”

“Such a cliché, but I still love it.” She kissed him. “I love you.”

And I’ll love our babies—our twins—just as much.

“As well you should. I’m a catch.” He winked, glanced up at Ty holding a spring of mistletoe over them, and gave her a solid kiss. “I love you, Laura. Now enough of this mushy stuff. We have songs to sing.”

She groaned. “Not you too.” But she let her sexy fox drag her to the karaoke machine.

And as the entire room sang goofy holiday tunes, she knew she’d finally found a true home filled with friends, family, and true love. A true Christmas miracle.
