“Your entire schedule?” Catherine gasps. “Even your date with the Sorensen Pack?”

“Oh… Um. Postpone that one? I’ll call you back.” They’re not off my list entirely—because being disposable is firmly in the pro column—but I’m seriously put off by last night’s performance.

Sorensens can’t handle my lifestyle.

I can’t fucking handle my lifestyle.

“If that’s what you want, consider it done. And you’re feeling alright? Just say the word if you need our easing team. I’ll send Juan Pablo. His touch is divine,” her purr vibrates the phone.

And the alphas vibrate my room with unhappy growls.

I bite back a smile. “I’ll let you know.”

“Who the fuck is Juan Pablo?” Finn flicks out a knife.

Orion sets his chin on my shoulder, all lit up with mischief. “Aren’t I your easing team?”

“Mmm.” I run fingers through his hair, stroking him until his eyes roll back and the alphas twitch. Fun. “You’re my team.”

Orion butterfly-kisses my shoulder, and the air thickens, my breath bottoming out.

Better stop before I’m twitching too.

I clear my throat, fooling no one when the room smells like simmering caramel, then turn to Atlas and Hunter. I’d go straight to the pack leader, but they’ve been doing some weird power trade-off that shifts their dynamic. “I can’t go back to the OCC.”

“Right,” Atlas rumbles. “Not safe.”

“Where do you want to go, Killer?” Hunter leans against the wall, playing casual.

“I thought Honeymoon Hills, but—”

“Abysmal security,” Jett offers, giving off murder vibes that have Finn licking his lips and me praying for inner peace.

Stop being attracted to psychos.

I sigh.

Grim reaper energy or not, Jett is right.

The heat suites are just condos. They’re nice condos—the brochures brag about the spa and pizzeria—but the OCC has ten times their security, and we know how that’s been going.

Packs are vetted for OCC events.

I’ve always doubted how well, but still.

Last night, a scary amount of alphas threw away their respectability to cash in a chance at underworld power.

That would’ve been enough to make me change my game plan.

But then they had to drug me too.

Makes my stomach churn.

If I’d gone into heat—

I swallow sour bile. “I need a safe place to crash.”

“If you’re willing to go with us—” Hunter starts.
