I choke.

So cold.

But weirdly hot.

I’m in my alphas’ arms.

And something’s so fucking loud it rings my head.

Helicopter.

Wyverns circle.

I feel wind, and a lift, and then I’m hit with a spike of sour apple terror as Orion drags me into his warmth.

“Got you,” he whispers, already peeling off my icy clothes. “Never letting go.”

They strip off the life vest, then someone hisses when they spot the collar I wasn’t going to risk drowning to remove.

JJ knocks Finn and Atlas away, dropping between my knees. I’ve never felt anything so gentle as his fingers on my throat.

He slides off the buckle and tosses the whole fucking thing into the sea. Then he kisses the stinging mark on my throat. “Lilac.”

Want to stroke his hair, but my eyelids flutter.

Orion wraps me in his sweatshirt and the alphas press my skin, dripping seawater.

They rub my arms and legs and throat, slowly bringing the feeling back to my body.

But when the cold fades, the heat returns.

I know the second the smell hits.

Their soothing, concerned purrs hitch, dropping to low, stroking rumbles.

“You’re okay.” Orion hugs me. “Taking you to the clinic. No heat right now. Not until you’re warm and safe.”

“D-d-drug…” My teeth chatter. “I—”
