Her baby blues are no longer sleepy but wide open. “Really?”

“Yes, really. I love you.”

“Well, I love you too, Jase. You unlocked the cage my heart was in and set me free.” She presses a kiss to the center of my chest, and I feel it all the way down to the beat of my heart.

A cheeky smile teases her lips. “I think I can feel exactly how much you love me.” Dana’s hand brushes against my cock, and I groan.

“Hey, I thought we were being all romantic here, and all you can think of is sex,” I joke.

“I do have eight years to make up for. And it’s not only sex I want. I want the whole of you.” She rests her hands and chin on my chest again. And now that she’s no longer touching my dick, I’m able to concentrate on her words. And I know with absolute certainty that she’s it for me, my one, my everything. And I don’t want to waste another minute without her in my life.

“Move in with me.”

“What?”

“It makes sense. We love each other. And I want to wake up next to you every morning.” I draw on all my marketing skills, selling her my vision of a future for us. “We can live here or at your place or somewhere new. I don’t care as long as I’m with you.”

Her gaze locks on mine. “But wouldn’t that be rushing things?”

“Dana, we’re hardly rushing things when we’ve both admitted this is what we’ve wanted for months.”

She grins. “True. I love you, and in the spirit of putting myself out there, which I have to say is working out well for me so far, you’re right. We should do this. But don’t think this gets you out of taking me on my silent auction date.”

“Sweetheart, I plan on taking you on romantic dates for many years to come.” And we seal our agreement the best way we know—with more steamy kisses and plenty of promised lovemaking.

One Month Later

“You know you’re not helping,” Dana complains, staring at me and looking damn cute with her hands on her hips. I’m sitting in the middle of the bed, my back against the headboard and my legs stretched out in front of me. Feeling pretty satisfied with life while my girlfriend bangs around our bedroom, packing her bag for our long weekend getaway.

Still smiling, I go back to my cell and finish tapping through the last steps to complete our flight check-in. Done.

She stomps across the plush carpet to the walk-in closet and stands in the doorway with her back to me.

“Jason, will you please give me some ideas on what to pack? You won’t tell me where we’re going for our date. You won’t confirm if it’s going to be cold or hot. All I’ve got to work with is that we’re going to be away for four days.”

“And you need your passport, too,” I confirm. I’ve spent weeks organizing the best silent auction date for Dana, and I’m not about to spoil the surprise. I know this is driving her crazy because I’ve taken away her ability to plan. And she loves to plan.

I jump up and go to stand behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist. Her body curving into mine feels as natural as taking my next breath. Her head tilts to the side, and I kiss her neck.

“Still not helping, but I’m feeling a little better.”

Laughing, I lift my head and follow her line of sight. All the way down one side of the closet are her clothes hanging and folded neatly, mine on the other. Damn, I like seeing that.

“Okay, bring the red wrap dress, the gray London cocktail dress and those sexy black jeans I love peeling off you.” I’d include the gala dress, but we’ll definitely not be eating out somewhere that fancy. Otherwise, those items of clothing hanging in the closet are the ones that bring back the best memories of special moments we’ve shared. Moments I intend to add to over the next four days.

“The rest of the time, I plan on having you naked under me …” I fill my lungs with her sweet, floral scent. “Or on top of me. Your choice.” I kiss along the creamy column of her neck. Then, turning her within the circle of my arms, I add, “You know, sweetheart, I love you whatever you wear or don’t.” I capture her lips in a steamy kiss, our tongues tangling, my fingers slipping under the hem of her camisole top and beginning a slow ascent up her ribcage.

“This isn’t helping with my packing,” she murmurs in a husky voice that never fails to make my heart beat faster.

I remove my mouth from where I’m now trailing kisses across her collarbone. “Do you want me to stop?”

Her hands go to my head, her fingers burrowing into my hair. “Don’t you dare?” she gasps.

Good, packing can wait. We’ve got plenty of time before our flight.

I pick her up and carry her back to our bed. But before I can continue my lovemaking, Dana places her hands on my face. “Have I told you today how much I love you?”
