“I want to, and I would do anything to get you naked but, can I ask, why now?”

She didn’t seem surprised by my question as if she knew I was going to ask it. Taking a step back, she fell back onto the bench, and I sat next to her. Although it was cold for an autumn night in Vancouver neither of us seemed to be bothered. That would change however shortly as the alcohol wore off.

“I won’t lie and say I haven’t thought about it. But I guess tonight has just made me feel a little braver than I usually would.”

“Ah, so is this the drink talking or is this the Kimberly I know?”

“Ummm,” laughing, she held her hands up in a surrender motion and smiled. “Probably a bit of both.”

“Right, well in that case misses… we will be going upstairs, but to get you in some comfortable clothes and to put you to bed.”

Her smile disappeared then as if she wasn’t happy with my answer. I desperately wanted to do the right thing and be the right guy. I needed to treat her better as she deserved the world and not be the guy I was before.

“Kimberly, if maybe one day, when we do end up sleeping together,” pausing, I moved a bit closer to her and placed a hand on her knee and whispered in her ear.

“I wanna fuck you senseless, but in order for me to do that, I need you to be sober and want you to want me as much as I want you.”

Kissing her lightly on the side of her neck, she went still and moaned softly as I trailed the kisses up to her jawline then onto her lips.

“Is that alright with you?”

I almost growled, moving back, our noses touching. I watched her swallow hard as her blush reappeared on her cheeks as my hand moved up towards her thigh.

“That’s, eh – that’s fine by me.”

She was breathless and I wanted to kiss her all over, bring her to the point of no return again and again. Friends didn’t think of each other like this. I was starting to look at her as if she were the appetizer, main course, and dessert, especially in that dress.

“Let’s go inside, it’s getting a bit chilly.”

Standing up, I linked my fingers into hers then led her back into the hotel and towards our room. The wedding sounded as if it was slowing down as guests made their way out of the room and towards the elevators. The happy couple was included in those leaving. When the groom saw us, he threw his arm over my shoulders as we waited to go upstairs.

“Not leaving already?” He asked, his breath smelling of whiskey.

“Ah, yeah, mate, gotta get to bed, you know, early session tomorrow.”

He winked at me as he looked at Kimberly, his eyes drifting up and down her body. Although he was just married, he didn’t seem to care very much as he ogled Kim. I wanted to punch him in that moment when he looked back up at me and tensed.

“Can we get a selfie?”

Rolling my eyes, I knew it was bound to happen, it always did. Fans would often ask for a picture with me. At this moment, as much as I wanted to say no and escape, I thought it would be best to agree. After all, we had gatecrashed his wedding.

Lining up beside him, he held the camera up, thankfully he cut Kim out of the frame, and snapped a few pictures, along with his other guests who recognized me.

Paula was going to have a field day tomorrow as there was no doubt these wouldn’t go up on social media, people couldn’t help themselves. We would have to come up with a cover story as to why I was even here.

“Night, boys.”

“Yeah! Thanks, man!”

Once the elevator dinged, I was glad Kim pulled me towards the doors and out of their eyeline to head upstairs. She leaned into me a little as I wrapped a protective arm around her waist. She had been quiet since we got back inside. I was wondering if it was her maybe questioning what she had just asked to happen. Or if she regretted kissing me.

“Still friends?”

She lifted her head up and looked confused.

“Why wouldn’t we be, idiot?”

“Well, after what just happened, I thought maybe you’d be a little mad.”
