Nick nodded. “Apparently, it’s not the first time he’s done it either. It’s likely dear old Kyle is going to be out of a job soon. Apparently, he’s not doing so well in general recently, and I’d bet money that’s because he doesn’t have you doing his job for him anymore.”

“So, what do you say, Holly?” Jaxon asked, his expression full of boyish hope. “Will you stay?”

Could she do this?

Did she want to?

She looked from one man to the next, testing her feelings for each one. They all had their unique characteristics, different, but equally special qualities that drew her to them. She remembered how it had felt like her heart was breaking when she’d had to leave. How she had kept trying to tell herself that she must be mistaking the depth of her own feelings. How it was impossible to feel so deeply after such a short time.

But what if it wasn’t?

Didn’t she owe it to herself to find out?

EPILOGUE

Holly bustled around Winter Lodge, checking the durability of the brightly painted wooden decorations for the new Christmas tree that had been placed in the reception area.

“Don’t forget to extend the play area, ready for the Christmas rush,” she told Crystal, who had recently finished college and come to work at the hotel full time. But as Holly’s assistant, as well as doubling as a receptionist on occasion.

“I can’t believe how much better things are with all the changes you’ve implemented,” Crystal enthused.

Holly gave her a wink. “Well, I happen to be on good terms with the owner.”

Crystal smiled and shook her head. “No, you have the best ideas, Holly. Nick is lucky to have you.”

“That I am.” The man in question agreed as he strode over to Holly and pressed a quick kiss to her temple. “And what about you, Crystal? Are you ready to tackle Christmas this year?”

“This year will be a cinch with all the transformations Holly has innovated.”

“Are you ready for lunch?” Nick asked, turning back to Holly as he checked his watch. “The others will probably be waiting for us by now.”

“Good thing it’s not far then,” Holly laughed with a nod of her head.

Nick took her hand, and they walked through to the restaurant where, long ago, the permanently reserved table in the little corner nook had been expanded to seat four rather than two.

“You’re late,” Kris grumbled, pulling her into the booth next to him, and kissing her full on the lips. “Naughty girls get spanked,” he murmured in her ear, sending arousal zinging down her spine.

She gave him a mock glare. “I wasn’t the only one who was late. Are you going to spank Nick too?”

“Nope, I’ll leave that to you,” Kris replied with a wink.

“I’d watch that,” Jaxon said irreverently, waggling his eyebrows.

“Behave,” Nick admonished. “That’s not what we’re here for.”

Holly looked at him. “What are we here for? I thought we were just meeting up for lunch.”

“Have you forgotten what the date is?” Kris asked. There was a scowl on his face, but Holly could tell he was faking it.

“It’s the twentieth.”

“That’s right,” Jaxon affirmed with a nod. “One year since we met. Happy anniversary.”

He pushed a small gift box into the middle of the table, and Holly’s mouth dropped open as she stared at it. “Guys, that’s not fair. No one told me this was the day we were calling our anniversary.”

“Well, maybe this will give you a reason to remember it,” Nick replied, and Holly looked up to find all three men on their knees.

“Wh-what are you doing?” she stammered, looking from one to the other.
