I almost rolled my eyes at the compliment but stopped myself. Men didn’t usually bother to flatter me or say sweet things to get what they wanted. Still, Crew never lied to me before, so although I was hardly the most beautiful woman anyone had ever seen, who was I to dissuade him of my own charms?

He thought I was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen? I blew out a quick breath. How completely amazing was that—even if it was absolutely crazy at the same time? The feeling whooshed through me like a river finding a crack in a dam, so I rolled over to face him, and to feel that hard cock even closer to where I wanted it to be.

For the first time ever.

I actually knew how to pretend to seduce someone. I could lower my voice, lift my eyebrows, stick out my breasts, sound breathy and excited…all of the things I knew men enjoyed. But I wasn’t at all sure what to do, suddenly. I didn’t want to pretend with him, but I didn’t know how to do any of it without using my skills.

“Crew…” I lost steam after I said his name, staring at him in silence. What was I going to say? As though they moved of their own accord, I put my hands on his chest, his rock-solid torso warm beneath his shirt. He didn’t move, and I leaned closer, until our breaths mingled.

I kissed him. I’d never had the ability to decide who I wanted to kiss solely because I wanted to do it before recently. My heart raced as though it was the first time my mouth met another, and although it was ridiculous, it absolutely felt as though it was. He didn’t move, allowing my lips to play across his for long seconds, but then he kissed me back. Maybe he was amazed by this, too? I didn’t ask, but I reveled in our gentle exploration of each other.

His mouth was firm but soft, and he tasted somehow sweet. I pressed closer to him, and he did the same until we clung to one another. I knew moves I should make, practiced things I could do to amplify his pleasure, but instead, I focused on getting lost in the trace of his mouth against mine.

He didn’t seem to notice or particularly care that I suddenly became inept at the art of seduction. Crew ran his hand up and down my arm, strong movements that sent shivers through my body.

I pulled away to catch my breath. He took longer to catch his than I did, and I tried not to let my lips curl in pleasure at the thought.

“Wow,” his voice was low.

I agreed completely, but I blushed. “I hope that was okay. We never talked. I mean…I just assumed.”

He ran a hand through my hair, once and then twice. “Do you somehow think I wouldn’t want your kiss?”

“No. ” I ran a fingertip down the slope of his nose, and he nipped at it then smiled. “I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing. Like I’ve never done this before. We both know that I have, and…”

He interrupted me by kissing me. Then he pulled back, staring into my eyes. “Maybe you haven’t, not like this, anyway. Nothing has to happen, Raven. We can just stay here and kiss. All I wanted was to hold you. Just because I’m going through withdrawal from that machine, it doesn’t mean you owe me any sort of relief.”

I leaned up on my elbow, smirking at him. “Nothing about this feels like obligation to me. It’s more like…for the first time I want it…for me? That is, if you want it. You’re also not required to…”

He kissed me, effectively shutting down my awkward babbling. I was more than okay with him shutting me up. Maybe what I said spurred him on, because he pressed down on me, kissing me over and over again. A heat sizzled in his embrace that hadn’t been there before.

That had been Crew keeping it easy going. This was Crew really concentrating on me.

I sighed against his mouth and gave in to the heat that he created inside of me. It grew with every press of his mouth and lick of his tongue against my own.

Crew lifted himself up and over me like he was going to do a pushup before he propped himself on his elbows. “Not going to hurt you. Not for anything.”

His voice was barely a caress against me. I caught my breath. He’d never know what his soft promise meant to me. Not ever. I didn’t know that anyone had ever cared before. Crew caught his breath, his eyes widening.

“I just remembered.”

I tilted my head to see a range of emotions flicker across his face. What was he thinking? “What did you remember?”

“What I used to like in the machine.”

I blinked. That was completely unexpected. “Do you usually forget?”

“It’s mostly like a blur. Never mind. I don’t want to think about that. What I want to think about is giving you pleasure. That’s what I like, Raven. I like to give pleasure, even more than I like to receive it.”

I opened and closed my mouth. Was this really happening? Or was I still out cold and hallucinating? I was going to go with the first one. This is real. “I…ah…”

He scooted down, and in a swift movement, removed my pants. With a flick of his wrist, they flew across the room. I didn’t know what to do or how to behave, as I never— Men didn’t want to…

“Crew?”

He kissed the top of both my knees before he slid my panties down my legs. I shivered. Anticipation had never been so sweet. Or terrifying. But I wanted him. I craved Crew’s attention like a drug, and I was afraid I’d happily become addicted to him.

“This okay, sweetness?”
