“He could have blown it up…” I muse. “I might have kissed Ivan for that.”

“It’s very expensive car,” he acknowledges.

“It’ll be an expensive lawn ornament when I’m done with it.”

Fedor chuckles. “You have air of violence. Did he fuck hookers in your bed?”

“He stole drugs from me,” I tell him.

Behind me, Lory sighs like I’m dense.

“Agh.” The aggravated sound Fedor makes is more aggressive than I was expecting, but then he snarls, “Fuck him. We crush his car.”

“Could you take the steering wheel out before you do?”

He raises a dark brow at me, and I shrug.

“I want something to throw at him before I shoot him.”

Fedor shouts something in Russian. Ivan tips his head back, cackling with his hand on his belly, like he’s having the time of his fucking life.

Five minutes later, I’m holding the steering wheel of an Aston Martin, watching in glee as Ivan runs the half a million dollar, customized car through their crusher. The frame cracks and squeals as it’s flattened to a quarter of its normal size.

Fedor uses a crane to pick it up and place it on a rollback truck... And once he shouts a few more commands in Russian to another worker, Fedor and Ivan climb their loaded vehicle to lead us to Scarlett Shore Estates.

Lory and I follow behind them until we get to a stop sign positioned directly across from the long driveway.

“You’re having too much fun with this,” Lory accuses. “What are you planning now?”

“Nothing much,” I drawl, grinning at him. “Knock on the door... Threaten him a little... He’s not some thug who stole from us to resell. Either he’s taking them, which will make this visit more fun than I was hoping, or he’s trying to keep us away from his father.”

“How do you know that?”

I half shrug as I glance over the information Friday sent me. “He won’t jeopardize his reputation and his lifestyle to sell stolen drugs. Quin doesn’t strike me as the type to rave. Acid maybe, but not beans.”

“I don’t know, Jasper,” Lory stresses. “We have done no surveillance. We don’t know who’s in the house.”

“The deed is in Ezra’s name,” I fill in. “Some of the bills are in Quin’s name. It looks like it’s just the two of them who live there. If we pull up and there are ten cars in the driveway, we’ll start watching them. Otherwise, five or six people aren’t enough to stop us from issuing a warning.”

“Why are we issuing a warning?”

“Because Ezra is... a nice guy. Sort of. I don’t know how to explain it.” I shake my head. “And I am fucking their cousin. Killing Quin would make things really awkward. Especially since I’ve just murdered my way down to two guys in my rotation. I’d rather not have to fight another.”

Lory grinds his teeth. “Who’s his cousin?”

“Doesn’t matter.”

“Yes, it fucking does.”

“Why?” I challenge, smirking when Lory glares at me. “Because you want me, but you don’t want to share unless it’s by your design? Your problem with me seeing multiple people isn’t the multiple part... It’s the fact that you don’t know who they are, that you’re not pulling my strings from behind the curtains. I’ve got another one who’s like that. He’s trying to set up my next appointment, so he knows who’s in my bed when he’s not.”

Lory turns away from me, a sure sign that I hit the right buttons. He’s just not ready to admit it.

“You know, you two would probably get along,” I mumble, watching a quick clip from their security cameras. “He’s really stuck on my exhibitionism. Wants to find someone to watch us.”

“No,” Lory whispers. “It’s not going to happen.”

“We’ll see.” I wave his argument away before he really gets started. “Friday sent me notes and a clip from their security feed. Looks like it’s only the two of them, but when she sent this over, she didn’t have access to today’s feed yet.”
