I rubbed my face, wetness meeting my fingertips when they brushed the edges of my face. "Where's everyone else?"

I was still processing the fact I wasn't crushed to death. I wasalive.Em andWynvailof all people got me out. I … owed him my life. That was annoying.

When Emlyn folded me carefully into his arms, I sank into him, cutting off the sob that wanted to rise.Enough crying.I needed my mates, and a way out of this nightmare. I neededaction.

"We lost Harvey," Emlyn replied carefully, stroking hair back from my face. "He got stuck on the other side of a wall. Kai was with you…?"

I swallowed, resting my aching face against Em's warm shoulder and letting comfort bleed through me. A weak part of me wanted Wynvail to wrap his arms around me from behind and cocoon me between them both. Like he felt my wish, gentle knuckles skimmed down my wings, tucking feathers back into place, pulling out a broken one that had been knocked loose.

"Don't keep that," I warned him, turning my aching head in time to catch him tucking the dark feather into his pocket.

"Keep what?" he asked so convincingly that I almost believed I'd hallucinated the theft.

I shook my head, and regretted it when pressure and pain flared. I dropped my head on Em's chest and focused on my breathing. "I tried to fly up to find you guys, but I touched a field of magic and it zapped me here. I … left Kai behind."

"Not by choice," Emlyn disagreed, placing a long, soothing kiss on my head. "We'll find them both."

I swallowed, nodding weakly. "Where do we start?"

"If you can't fly," Wynvail said, back to his regular smooth, unruffled tone, "we'll have to follow the path."

I jerked away from Emlyn when a guttural, blood-chilling scream tore through the distance. It echoed in waves, growing louder, rawer, slamming into my soul again and again and again, cutting deep with each blow.

"Harvey," I rasped, shaking all over again. What was making my mate scream like that—like he waspetrified?

"Cronus," I snarled.

Emlyn dropped his arms from around me and caught my hand. "This way," he growled, protectiveness coming from him in lethal waves. No one got between Em and his family and escaped unscathed. The same went for me.

And Wynvail was apparently on board, or still couldn't put much space between me and him, because he glued himself to my side and raced with us down the wide stone passage.

Another scream made me flinch. I curled my free hand into a fist, pain driving deep through my heart in a phantom of Harvey’s.

"He's strong," Wynvail said without prompting as I began to run full out. "He can survive whatever Cronus gives him."

I bared my teeth and growled in the bastard's face. "He's strong because you tortured him."

"He's strong because I trained him to be!" he snapped back, silver eyes flashing. "I kept them all from growing weak while they waited for you."

He knew I'd come back? He had a lot of explaining to do before I killed the traitorous asshole. I began to demand those answers but Harvey screamed again. He was yelling so loudly his voice broke, and I could have sworn the word wasstop.

My stomach twisted as I thought of what could be happening to him. He'd been through enough already. Too much.

We swung around a corner, almost slamming into each other with how fast we sprinted. In front of us was a long stretch of grey stone with a flat wall at the far side. A dead end.

And right in front of us was a giant serpent with six necks, six heads, and one impossibly tall body.

"What the hell is that thing?" I breathed, retreating a step.

"Drakon," Wynvail breathed, catching my wrist to tug me back another step. Panic and protectiveness roared through his soul, so severe that I flinched.

"What?" I hissed, my whole body shaking when Harvey screamed again. Power and panic roared through me, pumping my blood faster. He was on the other side of that wall, so close, so far.

"Dragon," Emlyn clarified, and threw himself in front of me when the six-headed creature launched at us.
