He narrowed his eyes, but for some reason he didn't match my aggression. "Staircase at the other end of the hall. Second door on your left."

"I'll come with you," Emlyn offered, brushing the tip of a wing down my side.

"I'll be fine alone," I insisted, turning to give him a reassuring smile. Judging by the way his brows pinched closer together, I did a piss poor job of it.

"I'm ordering food," Wynvail said as I shoved past him, moving too fast, my whole body vibrating. I needed to get all this muck off me, needed to find Wane, needed to stop a titan from meddling in our lives. Nevermind the prophecy of great, terrible power on my back.

"Good for you," I replied to Wynvail, my voice flat. "Enjoy your lasagna."

Ifound the bathroom easily, and let out a long breath when I shut the door behind myself, stripping off my dirty clothes. I felt better with them in a pile on the floor. If I had to be naked for the rest of the day, so be it. I wasn't putting them back on. Not even my beloved leather jacket.1

The clock ticking away on the wall said four p.m. I rolled my eyes. Why was I surprised that Wynvail couldn't even get this right? Even his clocks were fucked up; it was four when we got here. It had to be five now.

I wasn't surprised when the door forced open before I could make it into the shower. Iwassurprised it took them a whole minute to barge in on me.

I swallowed, a lump swelling in my throat as Harvey and Kai shut the door behind themselves.

"Fuck," Harvey breathed, staring at my stomach where the biggest curse mark was inked. "Sugarplum," he sighed, closing the distance in a single step and running his hand over the mark. It was still there even if the curse was nullified, even if I had my magic back. Maybe I'd always wear the mark.

Kai slid around Harvey and moulded himself to my left, ducking his head to brush a kiss to my shoulder. "What do you need?"

I'd automatically stiffened, expecting him to ask if I was okay, or how I was coping with killing my great-grandma. I loved this about Kai; he didn't push me to talk, and let me figure things out on my own. Or at least he knew the others would pester me into talking about my feelings.

"Other than a shower?" I replied dryly.

"You're still beautiful even if you smell like a swamp," Harvey assured me, his fingers stroking across my side to my back, guiding over the prophecy marked there, too.

"Aww, thanks, Buttercup," I drawled.

"Any time, Sugarplum."

Kai snorted, gliding a delicate touch over my feathers. Reminding me of his question.

I sighed, my shoulders drooping. "I need you both close. But I don't have the emotional or physical energy to take both your cocks right now."

Harvey laughed, his breath ruffling my wings.

"No DP," Kai agreed, nuzzling my shoulder before laying another kiss there.

"I doubt I could even hold you up," Harvey said with a rueful smile. "I fucked my back trying to drag Emlyn to safety."

My head shot up. "Are you—"

"Fine," he assured me, silver eyes soft and full of love. "I'll heal. Just nothing too heavy for a few days."

"Don't worry," Kai commented, his eyes twinkling as he kissed my cheek. "I'll pick up your slack, Harv."

To prove his point, he unfastened his trousers and kicked them off, stripped his shirt, and picked me up, carrying me into the shower. I hadn't known what a shower was until Lucifer's palace, but now I took them for granted. The hot water that sprayed over me was heavenly, and when Kai set me down, I watched grime wash down the drain with relief.

"Thanks for leaving me outside," Harvey muttered, giving Kai a playful scowl as he pushed into the shower, his clothes discarded.

"Apologies, dear," Kai replied without missing a beat as he adjusted the water temperature. "Should I have carried you, too?"

"It wouldn't have hurt," Harvey shot back, snaking his arm around my waist and pushing me against the cold tile wall. I caught my breath when he knelt before me, kissing a reverent trail up my leg and lingering on an old scar on my thigh.

Kai noticed where his attention had fallen and his crimson eyes darkened, a million threats of murder running through his eyes.
