“I’m pretty sure. Trailer parks never die.”

“What happened to your mom?”

“She went through rehab, and she’s sober and a decent mom to Alexa now.” There was a faint spark of something in his gaze. “Whether she likes it or not.”

My knee bounced up and down nervously until I noticed what I was doing and forced myself to be still.

There was something Greyson wasn’t telling me. No one just saw a woman on the street and became so obsessed, so…thoughtful and caring. There had to be a reason.

What if I had seen some kind of crime? What if he was trying to find out something I knew?

What if he already knew I had amnesia, and he was trying to unlock my memories?

The thought struck me powerfully, especially when I had that weird, creepy sense of nostalgia looking at the photo.

"Do you know I have amnesia?" I asked bluntly.

His brows arched. "Amnesia?"

I nodded.

"That really happens to people?" he asked. "You're living a normal life, but you don't remember anything about your past?"

"I don't know how normal my life has been since you walked into it," I teased him.

The car came to a stop.

"Where are we?" I asked.

He pulled a face. "Proving your point about your life not being normal since I walked into it. But I hope you'll see that normal is overrated."

He got out and opened the door for me, I blinked at the bright lights outside flickering against the dying sunlight.

I'd been so focused on my conversation with Greyson, and my sudden suspicions, I hadn't noticed us driving into the airport...or onto the tarmac.

We were surrounded by massive planes.

"Isn't this illegal?" I asked, looking around. “We shouldn't be here without going through security–"

"Not when you're taking a private jet," he assured me. "Come on."

"Where are we going?"'

He was already walking toward a smaller, sleek silver plane. Over his shoulder, he told me, "Paris."

I just stared after him, trying to catch up.

"Greyson! You can't take me to Paris!"

"I can."

"It's too extravagant!"

"Now that you know...nothing is too extravagant. Don't make me kidnap you." He was smiling. Obviously not serious.

I didn't know what to do with this man who wanted to give me everything...or said he did. What was really going on? What did he want from me?

And if what he wanted from me was tied to my past...
