KAI

My eyes slam open as pleasure explodes through me. The force is so strong, I cry out, my mind muddled and confused as my body twists in the sheets.

When I fell asleep, I was between Weyland and Kaito, but I can feel them all surrounding me, my powers and instincts always tuned to them, telling me they are here and awake.

My back arches in ecstasy as I scream, caught between confusion and pleasure.

When I slump, my thighs slick with my own release, I force my eyes open and glance down, my frown only growing when I realize no one is touching me.

Well, not really. I watch a dark tendril slide from my pussy and up my body. As my mouth opens to speak, it thrusts inside, choking me as it forces itself deeper. Somehow, it tastes of me and the darky smokiness of Rook.

My eyes water as I blink, and Rook leans into me casually, grinning above me. “You look so pretty choking on me,” he purrs, his hand possessively stroking down my body. “So sweet curled up beside me, rubbing these tempting curves against me until I couldn’t resist. You needed me even in your sleep, so asyour mate, I provided.” His tendrils pull back, letting me draw in desperate breaths. When my voice comes, it’s hoarse from pleasure and his touch.

“Rook,” I start, but before I can even decide what to say, his lips crash onto mine.

I lose myself in him as he swallows my groan. His hand grips my chin as his shadows trail across my body, tweaking my nipples and sliding lower, where they slip inside me. He forces my pussy wide with his shadows, exposing me completely. They rip my legs open, spreading me, before they slide up and into my ass.

I cry into his lips at the new touch and try to pull away, but he holds me in place, dominating my mouth as the boogeyman of the Dead Lands claims my body in every sense of the word until I shatter again. He continues kissing me, swallowing my pleasure before I rip my mouth away, panting and shuddering.

My body is overly sensitive, like a live wire, and my skin is glowing. Lightning crackles from my skin and hits everything in its path. It seemingly burns and singes the wood despite not hurting them, but I can’t seem to stop.

“It’s too much,” I exclaim, squeezing my eyes shut. “I can’t stop it—” My voice is panicked and tight.

“Shh, we have you.”

Dade.

His grounding hands slide across my body, absorbing my lightning, and when I open my eyes, Rook has wrapped his shadows around us, protecting the room and the world beyond from me. My lightning bounces off it and them, seeking an outlet.

My human form is simply too weak to hold all this power in, one that is seemingly awake and waiting for . . . something.

It continues to grow, tripling inside me until I feel like I might burst.

More hands join Dade’s, sliding along my body and taking it into themselves, lessening that growing power inside me until I can suck in a shaky breath.

“What’s happening?” I ask.

“I think you called your power when you came,” Rook murmurs, watching me, not the least bit scared. “It seems you’ve been holding it back subconsciously, fearing it. You are more powerful than you know, little mate, and it wants out.”

“It’s okay,” Kaito says. “We have you. Let it go. Let it out.”

“But the castle—”

“Everything will be fine,” Weyland promises.

“Trust us,” Dade demands.

I try, I really do, but my body is still tense with the need to hold this back. I’m worried about what might happen. Cora is here, her mates—

“Let go,” Rook commands, his voice cruel. “Now!”

I do, letting the power slip through my fingers like a rope I have released. It unravels inside me, deeper than I ever thought.

Their hands hold me, even as I lift into the air from the force of the power surrounding us. Some absorbs into them, forming tiny electric threads between them and me until we are a circle and I am the center. My eyes shine so brightly, even I can see them, and my skin glows like the moon.

“Beautiful,” Kaito whispers as all that power explodes.

I don’t knowhow long the darkness consumes me, but it’s a familiar, comforting inkiness, and when I finally emerge, I feel rested and healed.
