“I can get us in there.” Braxton cracked his knuckles. “The only problem is Jeremiah will probably know we are here once I break through his protection wards. We also don’t know what kind of setup he has inside, so we might break some shit once we’re in there.”

“That’s fine,” Kingston said. “If Jeremiah isn’t here, he’s probably still at Spencer Manor back in the Hell Realm.”

“Wait!” Devon held up a hand. “Maybe we should check that out before we break in here. I mean, what if he just stepped out to have a drink with a friend or decided to take a vacation to Bali or something.”

“I don’t think that psycho has any friends,” Braxton said dryly. “But that’s a good point. We should find out where he is before we storm the gates. I have an idea. Wait here.”

With that, he disappeared. Less than a minute later, he was back.

“Where did you go?” Kingston asked.

“I teleported outside of Spencer Manor. I could sense Jeremiah inside, along with your grandfather and Wesley.”

Kingston sighed. “Looks like we should split up, then.”

Braxton nodded. “You and Autumn should go get your brother. Don’t worry. We will collect the evidence you need here.”

“We’ll meet you back at Lucifer’s castle when we’re done. They should have…collected some of the other council members by then,” Devon said.

“I still don’t think it was a good idea for Lucifer, Devlin, and Keo to kidnap more council members,” Kingston began, but was cut off by his friend.

“We need them to bear witness to what your brother and Nieman Irlis have done to clear your name. The best way to do that is to hand over the evidence as soon as we can,” Braxton insisted. “Let my dad and the others worry about persuading the council members. You just focus on bringing your brother in.”

“You’re right. So, how are you planning on getting past the protection wards out here?” Kingston asked curiously.

A few seconds later, a pair of massive black wings burst free from Braxton’s back. As he slowly rose into the air, silver and gold flames coated one of his arms while the other was covered with black flames. “I’m going to use god fire or devil fire to burn through the protection wards. One or both of them should work since they can pretty much destroy anything.”

Kingston huffed out an impressed laugh. “Damn, Brax. You are packing quite the arsenal these days.”

“I’m not the only one.” Braxton grinned and nodded toward his mate.

Devon lifted a hand and a ball of devil fire appeared in her palm. “Go. We’ve got this.”

Kingston nodded, then turned to his mate. “You ready, little goddess?”

“Ready,” Autumn confirmed. “Let’s end this.”

Kingston teleported them directly into the great hall of Spencer Manor. He’d expected the hall to be empty, so it was quite a shock to see his youngest brother waiting for them. Harrison and Wesley were sitting in front of Jeremiah with their wrists and ankles bound together. They were both gagged and a bright, magical rope was wrapped around each of their necks as they sat on two chairs that had been dragged away from the dining room table a few feet away.

When Braxton had sensed the three of them inside Spencer Manor, he obviously hadn’t sensed this scenario. Jeremiah was a younger, leaner version of Kingston. He had always fit the stereotype of a young banker, but now, he just looked unwell. There was a sallow look to his face, and he had dark circles under his eyes. When Kingston started to stalk forward, Jeremiah held up his arms, showing that the ends of the ropes were wrapped around his hands.

“Take another step, and I’ll kill one of them. Which one will you sacrifice, King?”

“What the fuck, Jeremiah?” Kingston growled.

Jeremiah smiled politely like the fucking psycho he was. “Welcome home, brother. I knew this was coming the moment I heard you’d become a god. Congratulations on finding your mate, by the way. She really is quite beautiful.”

“He really is crazy,”Kingston said to Autumn through their bond.“How did I not see it before?”

“Do not blame yourself for that,”she ordered.“No one could have predicted this kind of madness.”

Panic sweat was sliding down his back as he tried to figure out how to save his grandfather and brother. There was a small trickle of blood running down his grandfather’s temple, but otherwise, he looked relatively fine. On the other hand, Wesley was bloody and bruised from head to foot, but at least he was still breathing. Jeremiah lacked the physical strength to do that kind of damage himself, so he’d probably used a pretty nasty spell.

Even as a god, there were limitations to Kingston’s powers, and he couldn’t fight what he didn’t understand. He couldn’t make a move without risking his grandfather and other brother. Not until he figured out if those magical ropes were going to strangle them or slice through their necks like blades.

Just the thought of that made his stomach roil in protest.

“Don’t think about that.”
