Page 53 of Rough Heat

Josh didn’t hesitate further. He stuffed Leo full just like Damon had, fucking him with long, hard strokes.

Leo floated, eyelids fluttering and lips slick with spit. He swore he felt it when Josh came, filling Leo up again, mixing with Damon’s come.

Leo was completely out of it as Josh shifted away. He hummed sleepily as he was moved and wiped down, ending up cuddled between Josh and Damon.

“You good?” Damon murmured, the heat of him against Leo’s back.

“Yeah,” Leo whispered, and then, blooming out of him, “I love you.”

Damon went tense, and Leo had one moment of acute panic before Damon’s arms squeezed him tight, big thigh draping over his legs, enveloping completely. “Love you so much. I didn’t wanna…I didn’t want to rush into saying it, but I…” Damon’s voice broke.

In front of Leo, Josh got up on an elbow, eyes wide.

Leo gave him a wobbly smile. “I, um. Love you too, obviously.”

“Obviously,” Josh echoed, eyes bright. “I fucking love you too. You’re in this with us, right? You…”

Leo laughed. Had that really been in question? “Yeah.”

Josh draped over Leo, kissing his face all over, and Damon did the same to his shoulders and neck until Leo was drowning happily in love.

After a while, Leo stopped bracing for something bad to happen.

When his lease ran out on his apartment, he moved in with Josh and Damon, but it didn’t take them long to find a new apartment.

“A space for all three of us,” Josh said, and Leo appreciated the effort to appease any little doubt about his position in the relationship.

They spent Thanksgiving with Rose and Christmas with Damon’s parents, which was incredibly nerve-wracking but ended up fine. They were a little awkward about the whole ‘My son is in a relationship with an Alpha’ thing, but not in a mean way. It was obvious they were trying, including Leo in everything, even buying him a few presents and hanging a stocking up for him.

New Year’s Eve was a bigger party with friends and some family. Rose and her girlfriend were invited as well as most of Josh’s friends. When the clock struck midnight, Josh gave Leo a big, sloppy kiss, and then one to Damon. Damon and Leo shared a much more sedate one, smiling into each other’s mouths as cheers rang around them.

It was early afternoon on a lazy Sunday when Josh said, “We haven’t really talked about mating.”

Leo felt surprised enough to realise that not only had he never brought it up, he hadn’t even thought about it much. Or, more accurately, he had steadfastly tried not to think about it, and had ignored the subject every time it floated up from his murky subconscious.

He was getting better at believing that he was part of a real, healthy, consensual relationship. It was also true that he’d never heard of more than two people being mated, and he wasn’t exactly a sheltered individual.

To be honest, there were plenty of people who believed that Alpha/Alpha and Omega/Omega pairings weren’t right, so a polyamorous relationship in which more than two people were mated wasn’t something that was discussed often. Even movies, which had begun to adapt more open attitudes towards same-dynamic couples, still didn’t depict multi-mated relationships.

That was all to say that having Josh bring it up in the middle of the day jolted Leo out of his forced acceptance that mating was not something that was in the cards for him.

“What?” Leo choked even though there wasn’t anything in his mouth. He glanced at Damon, but the Alpha was looking a little exasperated at Josh, but not at all surprised by the topic.

“Sorry,” Josh said quickly, rubbing Leo’s back. They were all sitting on the couch, slumped with their phones in their hands, something meaningless on the TV.

Leo’s posture had stiffened significantly since Josh had started talking, though.

Josh went on. “I don’t mean to, like, pressure you or grill you or anything. It’s just…you know, we’ve been dating for more than a year, which isn’t much, I guess, but. You know. I guess I—we—were wondering if you had thought about it at all? If it’s something you’d want eventually? Again, no pressure.”

Damon was nodding, mouth a straight, serious line.

“Um. I. Is that somethingyouguys would be open to? Because, like. You’re already mated?” The last bit came out like a question, betraying how off-kilter he was feeling.

They’d been dating for a little more than a year. Had been living together for four months. The relationship felt a lot longer than that, though—maybe because of the way they clicked, or just because of how everything had begun, with Leo spending heat after heat with them, being taken on dates in between. Sharing someone’s heat could be incredibly intimate, and Leo had been there for a multitude of Damon’s ruts. Leo himself was taking suppressants still, still shying away from feeling so out of control, but it hadn’t dampened anything between them.
