“Don’t forget the next round of seasonal treats,” Miley said, as Rafael came back in for the last round of bags.
“I’ll get them figured out soon,” I agreed, following my demon to the door. “I’m thinking about promoting Sophie to manager and hiring someone else to take her place.”
“That’s a good idea, if you’re going to be busier now.” Brynn’s gaze flicked to the door, and we all knew she was talking about Rafael.
I had been considering the promotion even before I met Rafe, so I could focus on the desserts as well as have a little more free time. Since he had shaken everything up, it was probably a necessity. I hadn’t wanted to take the financial hit, but…
Well, if he was serious about the mating thing, I didn’t really need the extra money to go toward a house anymore. My business would still make enough money for me to be independent, and if I wanted a house, I could just pay Rafe back or reluctantly let him pay for it.
It would take me time to decide whether or not I was okay with that, but I couldn’t ask my employees to deal with a shitty schedule while I decided.
I’d have to go in and talk to Sophie about it the next day. I already paid her extra to handle the hiring as well as the schedule, so I was sure she would be thrilled about the promotion, and the extra money that came with it.
After one last goodbye, we headed out.
“Did you invite them to go dress shopping with you tomorrow?” Rafael asked, as he drove away. We were still using my car, but he was a good enough driver that I didn’t protest when he took the wheel every time. It was kind of nice just to sit instead of having to drive.
“No. Didn’t think about it.”
“Text them, then. They’ll need dresses for the party too; I’ll pay for everything.”
He told me the name of the store, as well as the time, so I reluctantly sent the message.

Hey. I forgot to tell you, I’m going wedding dress shopping tomorrow. You’re invited, if you want to come.
