“Girl, your ass is perfect the way it is. Eat the chocolate.” Miley smacked her butt lightly, making her laugh and me grin.

We migrated to the bathroom, chatting as we took turns showering off the sand, then started doing our hair and makeup. Brynn had declared that I didn’t need makeup thanks to my newdemonic glow(which was a compliment, though it felt like an insult), but I made Miley put eyeliner on me since she was better with it than I was, and then I swiped a little mascara on.

“So the goal tonight is to hook up with someone, right?” Brynn checked.

I lifted my hands. “I don’t care what you do, as long as you’re there for the wedding tomorrow just before lunch.” They were the only bridesmaids, and I didn’t want to look like a moron if they didn’t show up.

Plus Rafael’s brothers would be there as the groomsmen, so the numbers wouldn’t be balanced if they were gone.

“We’ll be there,” Miley said firmly. “Even if Brynn talks someone into taking her back to their room.”

She grinned. “I’ll find someone to takeyouback to their room, too.”

“Please, we all know Miles will only go for it if she can bring him back toherroom, so she can makehimdo the walk of shame,” I tossed back with a grin.

Both of them laughed—though Miley’s laugh was a little sheepish. “You’re not wrong.”

“It’ll be fun, you’ll see.” Brynn nudged her on the arm. “Maybe we can both snag a demon. I’ve got my fingers crossed that one of those gorgeous bastards will realize I’m his potential mate tonight.”

It was highly unlikely, but I smiled anyway. “I’ll cross my fingers for you.”

“I won’t. I’m still annoyed that you’re keeping supernatural secrets from us,” Miley grumbled.

“Believe me, I would tell you if I could.” She gave Miley a quick hug. Though Miles looked disgruntled, her expression relaxed a little, and we continued getting ready.

With my massive, heavy skirt flowing around me in a huge puff of fabric, I took a few steps back. I was trying to see myself in the mirror to get a whole picture of my dress, but it wasn’t working.

The damn thing was too big.

Still, I loved it. I had never considered myself someone who would want a princess dress, but I’d wanted a princess dress.

For one of the nights, at least.

Luckily, the room was big enough that I finally made it back far enough to see the whole picture of myself. I sucked in a breath at the sight.

“Hot damn, you’re stunning,” Brynn declared.

My face reddened, but I couldn’t disagree.

My cinnamon-colored hair fell in loose waves around my shoulders and down to the middle of my back, where it met the crimson-colored lace corset that formed the top portion of my dress. The neckline was an elegant sweetheart shape, boosting my breasts up so they looked bigger than usual. At the waist, it billowed out widely, a masterpiece of tulle and lace.

“You look gorgeous,” Miley admired, joining Brynn by the bathroom’s entrance. “Did you ever figure out what the dress colors represent?”

“Yeah, I asked Anastasia about it. She said the red tonight is to represent finding my mate. The men will all be in masks and their demon forms for the first part of the night.”

The women both raised their eyebrows.

“Shit. I forgot to mention the demon form thing, didn’t I?”

“You did,” Brynn agreed.

“They’re bigger, covered in moving magical tattoos, and they have horns, wings, and tails. They shift when they feed, and when they lose control. They can do it on command too, but it makes them more… animalistic, I guess. Don’t touch their wings or tails. I’m not sure about the horns, but I wouldn’t touch them either unless you’ve asked.”

“So avoid the winged guys,” Miley summarized.

I smiled. “If you want to be safe.”

“I have no desire to be safe.” Brynn winked at me.
