I metmy dad at the top of the grand staircase shortly after that, staring down at the space below me.

The magical, foggy ballroom from the night before had been transformed into a dreamy human wedding venue in the hours since the party ended. The space was full of red roses and elegant chairs, with sweeping fabric in strategic locations.

“You look beautiful,” my dad said, kissing my cheek.

Despite our rocky relationship, the compliment still made me smile.

“Work on that husband of yours during the honeymoon for me,” he said with a wink. “We could use a business partner like him.”

He wanted it to sound like a joke, but I knew he was completely serious.

I laughed, definitely not committing to that.

And… were we going on a honeymoon?

I didn’t think we were.

If we were, Rafael hadn’t mentioned it to me.

A stranger wearing a nametag gestured toward the staircase, giving us our cue.

We headed down the stairs, my hand tucked in my dad’s elbow.

My gaze caught on Raf’s as soon as we started, and when I saw his grin, I couldn’t stop a smile of my own.

The whole thing was surreal… but not in a bad way.

Not anymore, at least.

The ceremony was brief, but sweet. Soon enough, we were declared husband and wife, and Rafael was kissing me.

Our massive crowd was led into a resort restaurant that had been reserved just for us, and we all took our seats. Raf and I had our own table, and when I saw Anastasia sitting with my family, she winked at me.

Gratitude swelled in my chest. The woman was a damn saint.

Bash and Zander were at the family table too, along with Brynn and Miley. It disappointed me when I noticed Sebastian wasn’t staring at Brynn, a sign that she probably wasn’t his potential mate.

I must’ve imagined him staring at her the night before.

Rafael’s arm remained over my shoulder as we ate, and I leaned up against his side. I rolled my eyes but smiled every time he fed me a bite of his food or stole some of mine.

It was nice.

Really, really nice.

After a nap break—duringwhich I convinced Rafael to take my dress off me so I couldactuallynap—we all filed back into the ballroom. The new décor was similar to the way the wedding had been decorated, and classical music played.

Rafael and I chatted with the guests while other couples swept across the dance floor. When they asked questions I didn’t have vague answers for, he would nuzzle my neck or drag his hands over my torso to make me blush, and lie like a pro.

It probably should’ve concerned me how easily he lied, but I trusted that he would tellmethe truth.

After we were done greeting people, Anastasia put a bouquet of red roses in my hands and led me to the front of the room. I tossed it, and when I looked back, Miley was holding the flowers. Her face was red, and I saw her eyes flick toward the side of the room.

Something told me her new vampire guy was over there.

After Rafael and I ate a few of the desserts, he was pulled onto the dance floor for a mother-son dance. The father-daughter one followed, too.

We fed each other cake after that, and yes, smashed it all over each other’s faces. And afterthat, came the garter toss.
