Chapter One

Aura

Once upon a time, the Court of Moonstone was stolen by a dragon shifter. Aura’s great-great-grandparents had once ruled that mountainous territory, so in a sense, she was born a princess. A princess of nothing, but she was still a daughter of a baron, betrothed to the prince of the Starnight Court since birth. Her family might not have a court of their own, but being part of an original royal bloodline was something the Starnight King wanted for his son. It seemed she was destined to become a true princess after all.

The only thing standing between Aura and her birthright was the wedding ceremony. And what came after. She smiled at the undergarments in her hands. Inviting, enticing, seductive. Tomorrow night she would wear them for Prince Pax, and finally, she would get to have him press his hard length inside her, take her maidenhead, and show her how good it would feel to be tumbled, to befucked.

With a content sigh, Aura tucked the sheer fabric back into the box and rested it beside her wedding gown. She ran her fingers across the silky material of the dress, along each dip and curve, the perfect lines and seams. The material was form-fitting with a few layers of lace and a high collar. She’d been waiting her entire life for this day—her purpose—to become the prince’s wife, and, eventually, his queen.

While Starnight wasn’t as large as Moonstone, Aura would rule her subjects with kindness. Even if she held magic, she wouldn’t have attempted to take back a court she barely knew anything about. Moonstone flourished more now, though the newest king was known to be positively sinful when it came to pleasure, and the rumors were that his partners desired it.No onein Grimm’s twelve courts inherited magic. It was only wielded through spelled objects and potions that very few could master, generally only sorcerers, but some could shift into animals such as the Moonstone king.

Taking a breath, Aura lifted the handheld mirror beside her bed and peered at her reflection—her long blonde curls, her bright violet eyes. “This is what you’ve always dreamt of,” she murmured, setting the mirror back down, hoping she would be enough for the Starnight Court.

A light rap came at the window and her heart thumped with glee. Aura bit her lip, knowing precisely who the late-night visitor would be. The prince she’d finally met months ago, the one she’d been dreaming about her entire life while waiting for her twenty-first birthday to arrive to prepare for the royal wedding. As soon as she was of that age, her family had traveled to a remote cottage not far from the palace grounds to begin marriage preparations.

Aura drew the velvety curtains aside, peering through the glass. She caught a glimpse of Pax’s short chestnut hair, swept to the side beneath the moonlight, and pushed up the window.

“May I come inside?” he asked, his brown irises meeting hers as he pressed his callused palm to her cheek, sending butterflies thrashing within her stomach.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea,” she whispered, her smile growing wide. “You aren’t supposed to see the dress until our wedding day.”

“I’m here to see what’sbeneaththe dress.” He grinned, his finger trailing down her collarbone, to between her breasts. “I need you, Aura.”

Pax may have seen her nearly bare already, touched her to orgasm, but they still hadn’t been together in the way she yearned for. He’d wanted to wait for their wedding day, for them both to give themselves to one another as their firsts, even though she’d desperately desired to have him before that.

“Do you want to go near the lake?” she asked. Pax would take her there so they could be as loud as they wanted when they brought each other pleasure. And she needed to feel him now, to have his strong arms holding her, his deft fingers skating up her flesh, along her thighs.

“We don’t have time. My father wants me back soon. But”—he brought her face closer to his, his hot breath brushing her nose, smelling of grapes—“I need your mouth on me.” His lips captured her own, his tongue flicking against hers, the taste of wine on him delicious.

“Then stay quiet and come in,” Aura said softly, backing away from him to grab a fur blanket from her bed. She quickly covered the wedding gown just as he stepped into her small room and closed the window behind him.

Pax inched toward her, his lips catching hers once more while guiding her fingers to the laces of his trousers. “Please me like you always do.”

“As you wish, Your Highness.” Aura knelt before him and unlaced the ties, then drew his trousers down, freeing his large cock.

He gripped her head gently, guiding her mouth to him. Aura had been taught from an early age to remain innocent until her wedding day, but when Pax had wanted her in the same way she’d wanted him, they’d decided to experiment with other forms of pleasure. Pax was to be her husband, the man she was always meant to marry. She loved his touches, had begged to explore more with him, but he’d always stopped things before they went too far.

Aura skimmed her hands around his strong thighs, grasping his firm buttocks when he slid his throbbing length inside her mouth. Pax groaned quietly, not nearly as loud as he was when they were alone at the lake, while thrusting his hips softly. Aura pumped him, anticipating what he would do to her after, craving the pleasure he would give her before leaving.

Another groan escaped Pax as his cock twitched and he spilled himself into her mouth. She swallowed his salty arousal down, relishing it.

Aura helped pull his trousers up, then stood from the floor. Just as she was about to press her lips to his, to lead him to her bed, he lifted her chin. “I want to taste you just as badly, but I’m afraid I must leave.”

Her mother had told her never to argue with the prince. Besides for the love blooming within her for Pax, being an obedient wife was her duty, for her family, her sisters. The betrothal money would ensure her siblings were taken care of, and that they could choose their own futures. “It’s all right,” Aura said. “Tomorrow night we can have each other fully.”

“And for all the days to follow,” he murmured, his thumb drifting across her lower lip, her heart accelerating.

“We’ll be one another’s firsts and lasts.”

He pressed a chaste kiss to the back of her hand. “Goodnight,” he said before slipping out the window. She closed the glass and watched as he disappeared into the night but not in the direction of the palace.

Two hands grasped Aura’s shoulders, shaking her awake. “It’s time to get up,” her twin sister, Liana, sang. Aura peeled open her eyes to find Liana covered in specks of flour, her golden hair swept behind her in a messy braid. All five of the sisters had the same golden hair of their mother and the violet eyes of their father.

“What are you doing?” Aura asked with a yawn, tossing back the fur blankets.

“I just finished baking for the wedding.”

Aura arched a brow. “The palace will have plenty of desserts for the occasion. You don’t need to worry about that today.”
