“Shall I?” the woman asked, now kneeling where Aura had only moments ago.

Rush’s hands curled over the ends of his arm rests. He didn’t want her mouth on his cock—he wanted Aura’s. And even though he needed it, desperately, he would show Aura just how good he could make her feel. “No. Hike up your gown and sit in my lap.”

The woman smiled and eagerly lifted the silk fabric, her wet cunt free of undergarments. His gaze was pinned to Aura as he pulled the woman into his lap, her back pressed to his chest.

Rush trailed his fingers to the woman’s mound, spreading her curls to dip his fingers into her heat. The woman arched into him and moaned, but all he could focus on was Aura, begging her to turn and watch him. Others took notice and they slowly abandoned the center of the room to find a more intimate location. The music soon coupled with moans of ecstasy, but Aura continued dancing without a single glance at the throne as he meticulously worked this woman. With his other hand he gripped her hip, urging her to grind her ass against his stiff cock.

HewantedAura to fucking look. To want—

Dzmitry stepped up behind Aura and snaked his arm around her waist as if she werehis. Pressing his palm against her stomach, he whispered into her ear. Aura’s gaze snapped up to Rush and her lips parted as she watched with wide eyes.

Yes, kitten. Thiscouldbe you, he thought while rubbing the woman faster, her moan spilling through the room.

But instead of storming up to the dais, instead of ripping his hands from the woman’s cunt to place on hers, she turned her back on him to dance with Dzmitry.

And Rush’s vision went red.

Chapter Eleven

Aura

Aura’s heart roared in her chest, embarrassment swarming through her at the sight she’d beheld of the king and the dazzling woman. She grasped Dzmitry’s shoulders, perhaps a bit too tightly, as they danced. However, she didn’t press her body too close to his, unlike the other guests who left no space between their partners.

Dzmitry leaned in and murmured in her ear, “You’re quite good at this. And might I add the most beautiful woman in the room.” He then stared past her, annoyance swirling in his gaze. Without looking behind her, she knew his emotion was at the king because he believed the situation upset her.

Aura took a deep swallow, growing uncomfortable in this room—it didn’t matter that Dzmitry was kind enough. She kept her back turned to the king, even though the urge swelled within her to glance over her shoulder. When she could fight the impulse no longer, Aura peeked through a slit of people, finding the king scanning the guests, his hand no longer on the woman’s mound. The woman turned in Rush’s lap to face him, blocking Aura from seeing his expression. As the woman arched her back and rolled her hips, the ballroom seemed to spin and close in on her.

Needing an escape, Aura stood on her tiptoes and spoke to Dzmitry over the music, “I’m sorry, I think I need fresh air.”

“I’ll escort you outside, my lady,” Dzmitry said while glowering toward the king, his arm still draped around her waist.

The pianist continued to finger his way across the ivory keys as the cello’s lovely and seductive melody reverberated off the candlelit walls. Their sounds were perfectly in tune with the blood pulsing through Aura, mirroring the beating of her thunderous heart.

Around her, a few more guests slipped out from the dancing crowd, finding places to grope and pleasure one another against the walls, the furniture, somewhere in the halls, or perhaps the many rooms. A few of the candle flames were snuffed, making the room dimmer. To a visitor, it could be considered either enticing or beguiling.

It wasn’t the fact that the King of Sin’s orgy was beginning that vexed her, but how he continued to keep her there. What was the purpose of remaining in this ballroom if Rush no longer needed her as a statue at his side? However, Rush had been true to his word—he hadn’t forced her to give him pleasure or brought her to bliss during his conceited little party. And yet, she couldn’t get the way he touched the female from her thoughts, how instead of infuriating Aura, it only made her blood grow hotter.

As she and Dzmitry weaved through the crowd, she didn’t glance back at Rush. But now the heat of Dzmitry’s arm against her bare back was too close for comfort. Her pace picked up and she shifted from his hold. He was pristine and attractive, but she also remembered how Rush had threatened Brix. This was another man she didn’t know, only that he lived on the border of Moonstone and seemed concerned when Rush pleasured another woman.

Aura remained quiet beside him while they walked past a man drawing the top of a woman’s dress down to expose her perky breasts. She wasn’t certain why she needed the reprieve and couldn’t just stay in the ballroom regardless of what the king was doing. It was strange seeing Rush pleasuring someone. But why did it matter? She’d heard him bring another woman to orgasm just outside her room and watched him pleasure himself, yet this wasdifferent. The way he’d watched Aura as if he was taunting her, touchingher…

The King of Sin was a narcissist, but for a few brief moments, he’d been gentle when he’d applied the glass dragon scales to her face. The callused pads of his fingertips softly brushing her skin. Yet that wouldn’t take away any of what he’d done. Making her his prisoner. Chaining her sister to a wall. The unknown spell. But Rush hadn’t lied to her, the way Pax had. She reached up to touch the warm glass on her brow. Somehow, despite everything the king had done, she’d rather be in Moonstone instead of with Pax where he could whisper more deceitful lies into her ear.

Throughout the hallways, couples fondled one another, some with three or four people touching and tasting exposed flesh. She spotted Brix with his head tilted back as a woman knelt before him. Aura’s eyes remained wide. She’d heard about acts of pleasure, had experienced several of them with Pax, but this was something she might have only witnessed if she’d gone into a brothel in Starnight.

Near the front door of the sitting room, two guards remained alert, seeming unfazed at what was occurring around them. Tanix lay on the chaise and groaned when a shirtless younger man took his cock into his mouth.

Aura grasped Dzmitry by the arm, tamping down the bit of lust swirling within her. “I need to go alone. Thank you for accompanying me here.”

Dzmitry bit his lip and nodded as she walked toward her escape. It most likely came across as rude, but her thoughts were spinning in so many directions. Even wondering what she would’ve done if she’d discovered Pax had been bedding women after they were married.

Neither of the guards followed Aura into the warm night air. Surprisingly, the gardens were empty of couples, the temporary lust inside her fading. Her gaze caught sight of one lone figure standing in the shadows near a tree. Astor leaned against the trunk, his arms folded across his chest as he kept watch of the area.

She’d noticed him absent in the ballroom, but now she wondered why he would voluntarily guard out here away from most of the pleasureful acts. Deep down she knew it was because of Hana, yet he didn’t deserve her sister. As if hearing her thoughts, Astor glanced back over his shoulder, frowning at her.

With a scowl in return, she hurried through the labyrinth of bushes until she reached the secluded rose garden where she hoped to find a few moments of peace. The moon cast its silvery glow over the manicured bushes, highlighting the bright petals. Even though there hadn’t been more dreams of the girl, the scarlet flowers reminded Aura once again of her.

She took a seat on the bench and stared up at the starlit sky, counting each bright fleck as a distraction. The number hadn’t gotten too high when footsteps echoed behind her. She turned to find Dzmitry carrying two glasses of wine.
