Tim smirks, stripping away his sweater that I was holding against my nakedness, and admiring my form before walking me across the room to the steaming tub. Ooh, it smells so nice!

“No. Why waste a great bath?”

Okay. I’m pretty sure my whole “I am going to do what Tim tells me to” is probably supposed to go for the entire trip, so I obediently relax into the warm, scented water. He knows what he’s doing. I don’t think I’ve been this relaxed the entire time in the UK. Witha wink, Tim disappears, gently closing the door behind him. We really should get back, but this is heaven. It won’t matter if I take a quick moment, surely? My eyes flutter closed as I allow the deliciously scented, warm water to swirl around me. This is my favorite vacation of my life. I’m going to remember it forever.

The water is cooling, so I climb out, dry myself and wrap the towel around me as I emerge from the bathroom. On the bed are clothes similar to what I wore yesterday.

“The concierge came through. I guess I’m not too shabby at your job,” Tim boasts. With a giggle and a roll of my eyes, I eagerly reach for the new clothes while Tim showers.

When he emerges, dressed in new clothes as well, he takes my hand, snagging the small suitcase that appeared with our new things, and is now filled with our clothes from yesterday, and leads me down to the cute little dining room for breakfast.

Once we finish, he grins over the top of his coffee at me. “Are you ready to have fun now?”

“Uh, this morning wasn’t the ‘fun’ part?” I mumble, blushing furiously as Tim chuckles into his coffee.

“I mean, it was fun, but not what I was talking about last night.”

It wasn’t? Intrigued, I follow Tim out of the hotel after he checks us out. We leave our small suitcase of our clothes from yesterday in the SUV, and he takes me to a small café. We only just ate breakfast, so I’m not sure why we’re at a café until I walk in and stand, gaping at everything around me.

There has to bethousandsof board games here. The place is packed floor-to-ceiling with them. Tim pays our cover charges and we’re led to a small table for two. Leaving our coats, we peruse until we find a few interesting looking games to bring back to our table.

The server brings us smoothies, which Tim ordered when he paid our cover charges, and we spend the next three hours giggling our way through a series of board games.

“Okay,” I grin up at him as the Jenga tower crashes down over Tim’s hands, and he cocks an eyebrow at me. “I’m having a lot of fun.”

Tim beams at me. “Good. Because we should probably head back.”

He chuckles when I pout, leaning across the table and planting a kiss on my lips. I trail him back to the SUV as he taps a message to Bill on his phone, letting him know we’re on our way.

When we reach the SUV, Tim holds the door open for me, and I blush. Now this is service. I climb in, watching as he rounds the hood of the car, checking his phone with an eye roll and a shake of the head.

When he slides in, I don’t mention his phone. I don’t want to pry. But Tim plugs it into the car and snorts.

“Uncle Bill said to ‘be timely about it.’ We have to front for a country ramble in three hours.”

A country ramble? Cute. I think that is an adorably British way of saying we’re going on a non-arduous hike. Pulling onto the street, Tim reaches over, taking my hand and holding it over the center console. My cheeks flame, and I fix my eyes on Oxford’s amazing architecture.

This was the perfect mini getaway. I’m going to remember it for the rest of my life. I’m probably also going to remember that Tim holds my hand the entire way back to the Manor.

It’s only when we pull up at the outbuilding that is Bill’s garage that Tim squeezes my hand and releases it.

“Stay there, babe.”

My eyebrows shoot up, and though I unbuckle my belt, I obediently remain seated with the door closed. Tim slides out of the SUV and rounds to my door, reaching in and kissing me deeply. When he finally breaks the kiss, he sighs, pressing his forehead to mine.

“Can I come to your room tonight?” he asks, stroking my hair away from my face and tucking it behind my ear.

“Yes.”

Tim grins happily at me, helping me out of the vehicle and placing his hand on the small of my back, guiding me toward the house.

We don’t meet anyone on our way up to our rooms, and since no one is in the corridor, Tim lowers his head and gives me a quick, scorching hot kiss before disappearing into his bedroom.

My heart thuds, and I savor the moment, standing alone in the hallway, grinning like an idiot. Right. Country ramble. Sliding into my room, I quickly change into jeans, hiking boots, and a warm jacket, with a scarf, beanie and gloves shoved into my pockets. Warmly dressed, I make my way down to Bill’s study, turning my phone on as I go. We made it with a half hour to spare.

Just as I knock on the door to his office and he calls for me to come in, my phone lets out a barrage of noise as I receive a day and a half of texts, missed calls and emails. Bill chuckles at the sound, but waves that I should ignore them and gestures to the chair across from him.

“Well, I can see that you obeyed my directive to leave that off while you were away.”
