Ivy laughed and slapped his ass as she moved away from him. “Not helping me either, but it’s still a firm no. I find it yucky, but I know some men and women don’t.”

“I’ve never done it during that time. I respect the woman’s decision. It’s not as uncommon as you think.”

“I know,” she said. “When I was in college there were a lot of girls that did all sorts of things. That was mild.”

She wasn’t into threesomes but had been asked a few times. No way. She didn’t like to share and had said that.

“I don’t want to know the things you did,” he said.

“Don’t worry,” she said. “Nothing out of the ordinary. At least I don’t think. No more than two people naked at a time or in a room. No bondage or things like that. I’m not into inflicting pain.”

“Good,” he said. “It’s about pleasure.”

“Yes, it is,” she said. “Getting your heart hurt is more than enough for me.”

She said it and turned to open his fridge to see what he had to drink.

“Sorry,” he said.

“For what?” she asked. “I should apologize for just helping myself to something to drink.”

“What do you want?” he asked. “I’ve got wine.”

“One glass will be nice, but I’ve got to drive home. I’ll just have it now with dinner. You don’t have to drink it if you don’t want. I bet you’re a beer type of guy.”

She’d seen it in his fridge.

“I am.” He took the bottle out and opened it. It was red and looked to be what she was drinking the night of the Christmas party at Blossoms. Guess he heard her place her order.

He handed her the glass. “This is good. Thanks.”

He got a beer out and then opened it, took a big swig from the can and then put it down. She had no idea the brand other than the can was colorful and had some design on it. Had to have been some craft beer.

“I’m sorry if I hurt you. I didn’t mean it.”

“I know, Brooks. It’s the way you are. Sometimes we just do things in life and don’t understand how it’s going to affect other people.”

“Tell me how you know that,” he said.

“I feel like I tell you so much about myself and you don’t share the same.”

“I’ll share some,” he said.

“You better. Or this is the last date.”

He just stared at her and when he didn’t laugh she realized that this was one of those times where she said something without thought of what it’d do to someone else.

Pressure And Stress

Brooks was processing what Ivy had just said.

He wanted to ask if that was a threat, but she was laughing.

Could be a joke, but he wasn’t positive. He’d have to take her word for it.

“I’m not sure how much I’ll share,” he said. “Just some.”
