“What is?”

“That you can admit that you’re learning. The amount of swagger you have, I sometimes expect you to think you’re mightier than thou.”

“I am,” I reply with a snort, and she snickers at me. “I guess we’re both full of surprises,” I muse, and her eyebrows pinch together.

“What surprises have I had?”

“Where do I even begin with you?”

She pouts, but I kiss her before she can say a single word. It’s slow, deliberate, and consuming. Her lips melt against mine, parting to reveal her tongue as she entices me further, awakening my cock.

Resting my forehead against hers, I look deep into her eyes, but before I can speak, I feel a slap on my back. Creed, Zane, and Brax circle around us, the latter wearing a frown as he has all evening while the other two smirk.

“What now? Our pretty Raven looks far too delectable to call it an early night,” Zane says with a wag of his eyebrows as he pulls Raven from my grasp.

Asshole.

“I’m ready to get out of this dress. It feels fake as fuck, just like the evening I’ve had,” Raven grumbles, pointing back at the venue. “But my brain is too wired to sleep, too, so past getting out of this dress and heels, count me in.”

RAVEN

I’m one thousand percent positive that today has been the longest day in existence. It may be close to three o’clock in the morning by now, but it still counts. I don’t think I’ve ever been through so much and felt so many conflicting emotions in such a short space of time.

I witnessed Creed and Brax in the pit and faced the Gauntlet myself, only surviving with the aid of one surly gargoyle; had the joy of getting healed by Finn; went shopping with Creed, who enjoyed teasing the fuck out of me; then got all dressed up in a beautiful gown only to have to suffer through a meal with my brother and father.

What I want to do right now is numb my brain, switch it off so I’m actually able to get some sleep.

Hopeful that there’s some kind of liquor in the fridge, I wrangle myself out of my dress, kick off my heels, and scoop my hair into a bun. Removing my jewelry and washing off my makeup, I opt for a pair of shorts and a tank top before stepping out into the lounge.

I’m not surprised to find the four of them filling the sofas, but it does startle me when they all turn their attention my way. It’s unnerving and alluring all at once. They’re all out of their suits. Brax and Creed are wearing black fitted tees and black shorts. Zane has a loose-fitted white tee and a pair of gray shorts on, while Eldon has forgone a top all together, opting for just a pair of black shorts.

Fuck.

Enjoying the attention, I shut my door behind me. “Do we have anything good to drink?”

“Already on it, Little Bird,” Eldon says with a smirk, pointing to the discreet decanters on the coffee table.

“Perfect. What is it?” I ask, not really caring as I take a small glass and pour some of the pale liquor into it.

“Moon root and soda,” Zane explains, and I hum in approval before downing half of the glass.

It was tasty as a shot but even more delicious as a cocktail.

Brax is sitting on the sofa beside Creed to my right, while Eldon and Zane have a space open between them to my left. Deciding not to push Brax again tonight after forcing him to accept my appreciation, I take the spot between Eldon and Zane.

Eldon instantly tries to wrap his arm around my shoulders but his arm disappears when Zane grabs my thighs, draping my legs over his and turning me sideways. Eldon doesn’t miss a beat, though, as he twists in his spot, nestling me between his thighs as I take another sip of my drink.

I’m already hot and bothered by every glance in their direction, the pent-up tension that continues to bubble beneath the surface making it hard for me to breathe without any of them even touching me.

I glance across to the other sofa and find Creed staring at me intently. What would it feel like to have him caressing my skin too? It’s already intoxicating, but I’m a greedy bitch who always seems to want more.

My gaze flicks to Brax at that thought, but he’s staring down at the glass in his hands. I’m also a delusional bitch for seemingly wanting what I can’t have.

Zane runs his palm down my leg, distracting me from my thoughts. “What can we do, Dove?”

I frown at him. “Dove?”
