She rolled away onto her side and faced me. She mimicked me by propping her hand up under her head, and a lazy, content smile played on her lips. “I plan on it. I’ve grown rather fond of you.”

“Right back at you, doll.”

She leaned into me and pressed a kiss to my lips. “I’m glad we found each other.”

“Without your crazy dad talking you into spying on us, we might not have ever happened.”

“See,” she laughed. “That is looking at the glass half full. We need to teach Faye how to do that. And I don’t really want to talk about my dad. I called him today, and he only had ten seconds of his time to give me before he babbled something about needing to get to work.” She waved her hand in the air. “Back to Faye.”

“I’m not really into talking about Faye or your dad while I’ve got you naked in my bed.”

She rolled her eyes. “You’ve already had me twice tonight, Throttle. I was hoping we could talk.”

“We are,” I grunted.

She traced her finger over my lips. “What’s your real name?”

“Jethro.”

She blinked slowly.

“Doll?”

“I’m processing this, Throttle,” she muttered. “I expected you to put up a fight or something about telling me, and you just blurted out Jethro.”

I shrugged. My name wasn’t cool, but that’s what it was. “You asked, I answered.”

“Is it always going to be that easy between us?” I asked.

Her eyes connected with mine. “I’d like to think so, though I’m sure there is going to come a time when you piss me off, and I tell you to shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “I can’t wait for that day, doll.”

“You’re crazy,” she giggled.

“Only about you, Dove.”

“We do seem to make a pretty good pair, huh?”

I nodded. “Dice and Pirate were giving me shit about falling for you. They thought I was too much of a son of a bitch to land you.”

She rolled her eyes. “Then I guess that makes you a lucky son of a bitch.” She tipped her head to the side. “Though I like to call you my Romeo.”

“That stuck with you when Max said it, huh?” I asked.

“Adalee said it, Max just repeated it. And yes, it did stick with me.”

“Our ending is going to be a hell of a lot better than Romeo and Juliet’s, doll.”

She pressed a long, searing kiss to my lips and pushed me onto my back. “You better believe it, Throttle. We’re headed straight for our own epic love story.”

“The road may be bumpy for a bit, doll. We’ve got a cloud looming over our heads until we catch Anthony and figure out what Boone and Gibbs have headed our way,” I reminded her.

She shrugged and straddled my waist. “My life has never been a walk in the park, Throttle. As long as we’re together, we’ll be fine.”

“I must be a lucky son of a bitch, doll.”

She nodded and leaned down. “I prefer my Romeo. You’re my Romeo, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
