‘lkajfoi ; al;keaa alk;edfa ;lka,’ he wrote back.

I laughed.

‘Seriously, do you need me to come over? I’m five minutes away.’

‘No. We’re good. I just wanted to show you the costume we made for the Moonshine Festival this weekend.’

‘The Moonshine Festival?’

‘You know about it?’

‘Know about it? I’ve been roped into helping set it up. You commin’, by the way?’

‘Quin said they have a spare bedroom I could stay in.’

Reading that, my chest clenched. I had hoped he would want to sleep in my bed. There were a whole lot of things I wanted to do to him.

‘They do. You should come!’

Those three dots danced on the screen for what felt like forever.

‘Ok’.

“Yeeeessss!” I screamed causing Titus to look over.

“Get some good news?”

“It wasn’t bad,” I told him unable to wipe the smile off my face.

“Are you going to Dr. Sonya’s festival this weekend?”

“I’ll be there.” I paused not sure how to bring this up. “And, ah, you remember Kendall?”

“From after the game?”

“Yeah. He’s coming too,” I said nervously.

“Is he? That’s great! I liked him.”

“Maybe you can get Lou to come?”

“I asked him. He has a date this weekend.”

“He dates a lot, doesn’t he?”

“He does.”

“I didn’t realize there were so many gay guys at East Tennessee.”

“There aren’t. When he can’t find one, he converts them,” Titus said with bite.

“That bother you?”

“Why would it bother me?” Titus asked playing dumb.

I stared at him wondering if I was going to keep dancing around what was going on between the two of them.

“Look, if you like him, I think you’re gonna need to step up and tell him.”
