I hadn’t realized how much what his parents had done had affected him until now. They had stolen more than just his inheritance. They had stolen his connection to the only person who truly cared for him. She was the only person Lou thought he could count on growing up, and the one thing she had promised him, they had erased.

If he couldn’t trust her, who could he? What about his life could he hold onto as truth?

“We have to find what she left you?” I told him needing to do this for him.

“It’s in the bramble,” he repeated.

“We can go there now.”

“No,” he said pulling away and looking up into my eyes. “We need to wait until it’s dark. If we crossed the lawn now, anyone looking at the backyard would see us. We can go after dinner. Maybe after everyone has gone to bed,” he said planning.

He withdrew from his thoughts when my stomach growled again. He looked at me.

“You must be starved.”

“I think my stomach just likes living on the edge,” I joked.

“What do you mean?” he asked confused.

“Nothing. Yeah, I could use something to eat.”

“I’ll get you a snack. But maybe you should return to my room. It’s the one place that no one in this house will visit.”

“I’ll go back.”

Leaving and returning with the thickest sandwich I’ve ever seen in my life, I ate it without question and then washed it down with soda.

“Well, that’s a start,” I joked.

“How much do you eat?”

“A little more than you,” I said again having the strength to smile.

Lou kept the food coming until I couldn’t eat another bite. When he left for dinner, all I could do was stretch out in the bed. When he returned, it was with a slice of pie.

“You do know how to feed a man,” I said amused by it.

“You don’t want it?”

“You’re gonna lose your fingers if you try and take it from me,” I joked. “Wait. Where’s the topping.”

“You want topping?” he said sitting next to me on the bed.

“Got any?”

He cut a piece of pie off and fed it to me. When the fork was free, he kissed me on the lips.

“That’s the best topping I ever had.”

“There’s more where that came from,” he said kissing my cheek and ear as I continued to chew.

When the pie was gone, I pulled him onto the bed and rolled him onto his back. Kissing his face everywhere but on his lips, I slid my hand up his shirt.

My god, did l love touching his naked flesh. I could have held him all night. Sliding my hands across his chest, I almost did. It wasn’t until I moved my hand to the bulge in his pants that he reminded me of our plan.

“We can probably leave now.”

“I can think of a few other things I would prefer to be doing,” I said gripping his hard cock.
