She leaned into my back, possessively resting her hands on my thighs. “If I liked it ‘safe,’ would I be craving this man like a wildfire hoping to never find water?”

As laughter boomed from them all, Pops tried to catch his breath. Resting his hands on his knees, he spoke to the ground, “My son is a dead man.”

Dagger and Vice kept laughing as they walked away and put out their smokes. I had done the same. That’s when I heard a Psst in my ear. I gazed over my shoulder, only to have lips mash to mine. Feeling her slightly lifted on her footrest, so she could tilt my head back and possess my mouth, I was sure to keep the bike steady and let her have me. Our half-helmets gave room for hands to touch my face and neck, and for Elle’s tongue to delve and lick, creating a wildfire of my own.

When done owning me, she hovered above and said, “If you get us there safely, I’ll finish what I just started.”

Jesus. H. Christ. At that point, I was confident I could ride to the moon and back, just for more of her kisses.

Several celebratory whistles rang out as she sat back down. Dagger groaned, “Goddamn. When Pup fucks up, can you please be my Old Lady, Precious?

Pops warned, “Son, I think Daddy Dagger is hitting on your woman.”

Elle leaned her head to my shoulder sweetly, but snidely remarked, “Oh yes, Daddy Dagger. Please do explain.”

As if more than earned, Dagger patted himself on the back. “Ain’t it self-explanatory? No? Okay, here it is. Don’t be alarmed when you hear the ladies cry out ‘Daddy’ from my bedroom every now and then. It’s just me rockin’ the sheets.”

Her head lifted and her spine went board straight. “W-Why are you so sure I will hear that?”

He delivered a grand smile while spreading his arms wide. “Because you’ll be living with me.”

“W-What?” she squeaked.

“The clubhouse, Precious,” informed Pops. “We all live at the clubhouse.”

“C-Clubhouse? Let me guess. I’m picturing the Bunny Mansion where there are women just hanging around in case one of you needs to get laid.”

Three heads tilted in confusion, wondering why she would even consider that not to be the case.

I didn’t need to see Elle to know her eyes were rolling like mad. “On the way home, can I buy some ear plugs, please? Better yet, on the way to a hotel since ‘Daddy’ Dagger may find a willing participant in the lobby.”

Pops tried to hide his genuine smile, but I knew he had heard it, too. Elle had said home.

Deep inhale…

Instead of correcting Elle—explaining we were more ‘motel’ kinds of guys and you wouldn’t ever find us in some fancy-schmancy lobby—and that we were headed to another nearby club that had offered to give us shelter and extra protection—Pops helped Vice and Dagger lower the tail end of a huge enclosed white trailer.

Elle gasped when she saw three bikes already loaded inside it. “You fuckers tricked me!”

As Vice pulled out a ramp for me to drive up, Pops winked at Elle. “I can’t believe you were going to let him ride only hours after being shot.”

Sitting in the back seat of the white dually truck, I held my gut that ached like a motherfucker. We were pulling a trailer of bikes to where Pops was studying on a map. Vice was to his left, driving. Dagger was behind him, helping me sandwich Elle. Her head, no longer inside a helmet but now in a ballcap, was practically on a swivel. Through big sunglasses that shielded her identity, she kept checking over her shoulder, out the passenger windows, and across the front windshield. I was almost expecting her to check under the seats.

I did my best to pretend her instinctual worry wasn’t grating on my ego, but grumbled, “So, where exactly are we headed?”

Pops folded the map to get a better look at a certain location. “The coast. Diesel hooked us up by cashing in a favor. This club has been hankerin’ for a one-time run through his turf.”

Diesel, a man I’d fucking die for, was the President of the Redemption Ryders down in Georgia. For reasons we kept hidden, his club had a blood-deep connection with Stallions, hence why my eyes almost popped out of my head. It was one thing for Pops to tell Elle about my kills, but another club’s business? It was against our laws, and also deadly.

I was about to warn Pops about putting my woman in danger when Dagger elbowed her, revealing even more, “That’s my brother. Pres of Redemption Ryders.”

I gawked in disbelief. “Dude, free-lipped with secrets?”
