“He hasn’t called or reached out?”

“When I first left, he did but I blocked him.”

I stared for a long moment. “And is leaving him temporary?”

“Not for me, I want things he will never give.”

“Such as?” My eyes burned into hers, waiting. Jhorie could have any fucking thing she wanted from any man she wanted, if they had half a brain, but that didn’t matter…

“Marriage, kids, stability, happiness…”

“What if he’s changed his mind and is now willing to give you what you want?”

She stared at me so intensely I almost regretted asking until she made herself clear. “It wouldn’t matter. Things are different now. I don’t want those things withhim.”

Would you want those things with me?I almost asked. The question was burning on my tongue, but I pulled back.

“If he becomes a problem, you’ll let me know?”

She smiled, softly shaking her head. “Absolutely not.”

When I glared she simply said, “He wouldn’t stand a chance with you and I wouldn’t want that on my conscience. I can handle my ex, Omari.”

She lifted a few grapes and pushed them into her mouth. My eyes briefly lowered to her lips before they lifted again.

“But if there ever comes a time when you can’t, you’ll let me know?”

“We’ll see. Come swim with me.”

She stood and tugged at her suit, making an adjustment. My gaze trailed over her curves before I reached behind me to pull my shirt over my head and tossed it aside.

“Let’s go.”

She and I moved to the pool and slowly descended the steps. The water was warm from the sun and felt good but she felt greater since after we were both waist deep, I dragged her into me and wrapped her around my body.

“This isn’t swimming.” She arched a brow, grinning at me but making no effort to untangle her body from mine.

“Swimming is overrated. I like this much better.”

“I can tell.” Her eyes lowered to my very hard dick wedged between us.

“Do you want me to apologize?” I smirked and she shook her head.

“No, but we had rules. I’m pretty sure being here like this breaks all of them.”

“My dick is in my trunks, not you. I’m sure I’m following the rules.”

“Barely.” She leaned back with her arms hanging loosely around my neck. “So what business are we here for?”

“A meeting.”

“That’s all I get?”

“Do you want more?”

“If it’s concerning the work we’re doing then I would like the details if you’re planning on me being there.”

“You’ll be there but it’s not a formal meeting. More of an ambush because the person we’re meeting is trying to force my hand about another business matter by getting in the way of one that doesn’t concern him.”
