“Very well,” I told him. “You made sure of that.”

He laughed, pressing a soft kiss to my forehead. “We should get up.”

“Ugh. We should,” I said. My heart hammered in my chest as I found his gaze again. I remembered what he told me on the balcony, about keeping me entertained, but I wasn’t sure if he meant it. “There’s something I need to talk to you about.”

The crease in his brow deepened. “What is it?”

“It’s about Jace.”

“Go on,” he said, his gaze never leaving mine.

“We’ve, uh, kissed. You know. More than once,” I paused, searching his face for a reaction. “I thought you’d want to know. We didn’t go any further than that, but I mean, the offer is still on the table, right?”

“I’m not surprised he wants to fuck you,” he replied.

“I told him he’d be entertainment,” I said. “Which was so mean. I was just, you know, really stressed.”

“Kinda hot, though,” Teo said. “I would love to be entertainment for you.”

“You haven’t told me if you’re okay with it, though.”

“I did,” he replied. “I have.”

“So youareokay with it?”

He smiled at me. “Yes,” he said. “I’ll approve as long as you inform me beforehand, and use the toy I gave you instead of having him fuck you. You can do anything else you want with him.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at the unexpected response, blood rushing to my cheeks. “You’re serious?”

“Absolutely,” he replied, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

“God, I love you,” I murmured, leaning in to capture his lips with mine. Our kiss quickly deepened, and he breathed hard against me as he pulled away, my hands tracing the hard contours of his chest.

“Wait,” Teo said suddenly, breaking away from me. “We have a full day ahead.”

I could see the reluctance in his eyes, but I knew he was right.

“Fine,” I said. “But I don’t like it.”

He laughed. “Tell me your plans with Miranda.”

“I believe she’s being manipulated. I think she thinks that she’s doing all of this of her own accord, but she’s really not. I want to turn the tables on her – extract as much information from her as I can,” I said. “More importantly, I want to figure out who’s feeding her information.”

Teo frowned, concern etched across his handsome face. “Sofia, that’s dangerous. Are you sure it’s a good idea? She might be more cunning than you’re giving her credit for.”

I shrugged. “I don’t think so. She seems like a kid to me. But even if she was cunning, I would know it’s risky, but we need intel on her and her intentions. If I’m careful, I think I can pull it off.”

“Your safety is my priority, Sofia,” Teo said, his voice firm and protective. “I won’t let anything happen to you.”

“Thank you, Teo.” Weird to think that I was so grateful for the man who had kidnapped me.”But this needs to be done. I’ll be cautious, I promise.”

“Alright,” he sighed, running a hand through his dark hair. “Just… keep me updated, okay? And if things start to go south, you get out of there immediately.”

We spent a few more moments discussing our strategy, going over every detail to ensure nothing was left to chance. The weight of the task ahead was heavy, but I felt confident in my ability to navigate the murky waters of deceit and danger. With each step forward, I would inch closer to the truth. Teo’s approval was certainly helpful.

“We’re going to have to let her go at some point,” I said. “You know that, right?”

“Yeah. As soon as she leads us to this person who’s manipulating her, we will,” he replied.
