I shake my head, trying to show he didn’t hurt me, but unable to collect my thoughts enough to explain what is happening.
“Candy, what’s wrong? Do you want me to call the others?”
I shake my head again and take a deep breath. Releasing it, I push on Dash’s chest, trying to get a little space and tell him I’m okay to stand on my own.
“Wint was chasing me.”
“I know, Gumdrop.”
“And I ran back here.” He raises a brow at me.
“You escaped him?”
“No. He caught me. He caught me so good.” I shiver at the memory. “But when he said he was going to drag me back to the dungeons and give me to North I decided to run again. He chased me but I got ahead.”
“Okay. That’s not what has freaked you out though.”
“No. Some guy in the bar stopped me and complimented me. Saying he could smell my fear out there.”
“Shit,” Dash hisses, running his hand through his hair.
“Dash?”
He won’t look me in the eye.
“You know what he’s talking about, don’t you? He said he watched me last night too.”
“Fuck.”
“Dash. What’s going on?”
“Gumdrop, listen.” He reaches for me but I instinctively take a step back. “Candy, please…I can explain.”
“Explain what, Dash? Why are strangers watching me tonight?” I remember that they said there were guys watching on the other side of the mirror last night, but I didn’t really believe them. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were, but I thought tonight was just for me. For us. Why would strangers be watching me outside?Howwould they be watching? Unless the neon masks…
“Gumdrop, I’m so sorry.”
“Just tell me what’s going on! Whose idea was it? Has everyone been laughing at me? Watch the new girl, look how green she is.”
“No, Kitten, no. It was all me.”
“Don’t call me that.”

“My name is Grace and you need to tell me right now what’s going on.”

“I let members watch your sessions.”
