“TheDaredevilis already headed in the right direction since we changed course to rendezvous with you. We’ll be near the mining facility by morning,” Captain Wrin said. “Kirel, I want you to pull the schematics and anything you can of their personnel schedules. Raxnor, I want you to take that information and come up with an infiltration plan. Who else is on this mission?”

“We’ll need to use theDartto get close. It can’t hold many,” I said.

“I’ve got to go,” Zo-Fee said.

“And me,” I added. No frekking way would I let her out of my sight.

Tark said, “I want a look at this equipment to see if I can find any ways to make it for ourselves for the future.”

I gave him an approving nod. No matter how much I teased him about training more, Tark was a good fighter.

“I’ll fly you in,” Mol-Lee said.

“And I’ll be additional muscle.” Sul cracked his knuckles.

Hay-Zul frowned. “I don’t think I’m going to be any help on this one.”

“But you will be, even if you’re not there. It’ll be your work that allows Zo-Fee to read the control panels on the equipment,” Kirel said. “Which means I have to go so I can alter their programming.”

“I’m going!” Vree called out. “I can help!”

“Me too!”Glitter said.

“Frek, it’s not as if we can stop Glitter from going wherever she frekking wants,” Sul said.

Glitter laughed, a high chime of bells.“You can’t!”

The kreecat gave a loud yowl.

“Lila says she won’t let me face the bad lizards without her.” Zo-Fee rubbed her pet’s forehead.

“Frek me,” I muttered, a scowl tugging at my face. The captain was right. We really were running a zoo.

CHAPTERTHIRTY-ONE

Sofie

We left the males behind to discuss logistics as Mollie and Hazel pulled me from the conference room.

“Let’s get you settled,” Mollie said.

“Yeah,” Hazel added. “You need clothes and underwear and things.”

I let out a soft groan. “Mother of god, please tell me you have bras.” I didn’t have big boobs, but I had enough that running around without a bra felt weird. And if we were going to raid a lizard facility, I wanted to “gird” all the things I could gird.

“We have bras.” Mol-Lee grinned and hooked a thumb toward the other woman. “Hazel designed them.”

Hazel waved a hand at her ample chest. “That’s me! Good for more than just linguistics.”

“You know you enjoyed it.” Mollie’s eyes twinkled with mischief. “Designing a bra made Kirel stare at your chest the whole time.”

Hazel bit her lip and giggled.

We entered a small room filled with shelves and one wall that was some kind of machine hidden behind plain panels. They made me stand still so they could scan me.

“First things first. You’re going to need a spacesuit.” Mollie tapped at her phone, and the machine hummed to life.

“Can I get a phone?” I asked.
