My thoughts turned sour as memories of that traitorous bitch flooded my mind.

I swiftly packed up the rest of the medical supplies and rushed out of the room, haunted by the past betrayal.

I heard the door open again behind me, and harsh footsteps followed me down the stairs.

Roman shoved me against the wall and held his forearm to my neck.

“What game do you think you’re playing at? Gabriella is not some object for you to toy with! She’s under our care and protection until she finds a pack to mate with!”

I shoved him back, throwing him off of me.

“We could be her pack. You’re making this more complicated than it needs to be!” I retorted angrily.

“I agree with Chase,” said Stone, who snuck up from behind me. Damn, he scared the shit out of me sometimes.

He had a weird habit of disappearing from sight and then reappearing at odd times. My money says he was doing drugs half the time, but Roman bets that he was a part-time serial killer.

“I like her a lot,” Stone added to the argument, bringing me back to my righteous anger.

Roman ran his hands through his hair in frustration and replied with clenched teeth.

“We do not have a current need for an omega. Not now or in the near future. It would be irresponsible for us to claim her.”

“Says you,” I spat back. “I’m done living in the past. Stop punishing the rest of us for Judith’s actions. It’s about time we found ourselves an omega.”

Roman's face darkened like a thundercloud, and he took a threatening step in my direction.

“Never say that name in my presence again, Chase. Obey my orders regarding Gabriella or get the fuck out and find yourself a new pack.”

My wolf howled at his commanding words. He wanted to rebel against that authority. However, the human side of me was a little smarter than that. I needed to stay around wherever Gabriella was.

Instead of fighting back, I conceded to his alpha leadership and bent my neck in obedience until he was satisfied. But inside, my heart was burning with a fire that was lit the moment I set eyes upon that stunning blonde omega.

One way or another, I was going to have her. One way or another, she would be mine. No matter what Roman would say.

I wisely kept that thought to myself and made my way back to the dining room. I did not forget that Gabriella still didn’t get a chance to grab a bite to eat. And with her lying upstairs injured, unable to reach the table, I would just have to bring the food to her.

And maybe feed it to her.

The thought of her plush red lips wrapping around my fingers got me hard all over again.

I quickly threw together a plate and made my way back upstairs to her.

Chapter 4

Gabriella

Ipulleddownmydress, covering my legs and sat carefully on the bed. I was pleased to notice that my thigh barely ached now after Chase’s ministrations.

I walked over to the closet to see if there was anything I could wear so that I could burn this hideous dress once and for all.

The closet was mostly empty except for a dressing gown all the way at the back.

That’ll do.

I quickly stripped off the dress and threw it to the floor, glad to be rid of the horrid thing. I put on the pink robe and wondered who had lived in this room before me. Whoever it was had a horrible taste in color. All of the different shades of pink were nauseating me.

I was all alone in the room after Roman and Chase left abruptly. I could hear some sort of scuffle going on downstairs, but I was too tired to go out and eavesdrop.
