Jack and Tommy agreed, but the thought of a coming storm had Tommy wondering if he should tell his friends about the phone call he'd gotten from Sofia's ex earlier.

But, nah.

He didn't know what he was dealing with yet with Dane, and besides, his mind was a mess thanks to Grace tonight. He hadn't been able to shake the thought of losing her since he'd realized he'd already started coming to think of her ashis...even though she wasn't.

The trio stepped into the pub, and Tommy was shocked to find Sofia there, sitting at the bar with Ethan.

Jack leaned in. "Now you know how I felt when I couldn't go anywhere in this town without seeing my sister and Nick canoodling in a corner."

Nick leaned in from Tommy's other side with a smirk. "You still can't."

Tommy tried to laugh, but after getting a phone call from his sister's first love from prison only to find her sitting at the bar with a sweater vest and glasses-wearing stranger, his mind was otherwise occupied.

"Hey, Nick," Tommy said, attempting to be casual. "How much do you know about that Ethan guy?"

Nick glanced over at Ethan and shrugged. "He seems like a nice guy for a computer nerd."

Tommy grunted. He imagined most computer nerds were nice guys. Or, at least, they didn't seem like the types to get in bar fights... which Sofia's ex was prone to doing.

As if sensing their eyes on her, Sofia looked over and spotted the guys by the door. She said something to Ethan, excusing herself from him and sliding off the bar stool. She came over to Tommy and his friends, her eyes filled with curiosity.

"You know, I might be new in town, but even I know there isn't a hostess here. Pretty sure you guys can seat yourselves," she teased.

Jack and Nick exchanged glances before saying they'd meet Tommy at the bar, then left the siblings standing by the door.

When they were out of earshot, Sofia crossed her arms over her chest and raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"

Tommy shook his head. "We probably don't have time to get into it right now."

And they didn't. He was more convinced than ever that there was more to Sofia's visit than wanting to spend the holidays with him, and when he finally got the scoop, it wouldn't be in the doorway of the pub while his friends waited for him.

Or while her date kept looking over at them with a nervous expression.

"Fine," Sofia replied, her eyes narrowing slightly. "That's not ominous at all."

"Is this a date?" Tommy asked, nodding over her head at Ethan.

"If it is, would you have a problem with that?"

He shrugged. "I'm not sure. How well do you know the guy?"

"Probably only a little less thanyouknowGrace," Sofia retorted, a mischievous glint in her eyes. Tommy rolled his eyes, and Sofia pushed his shoulder playfully. "I'm serious, Tommy. Lighten up. We're just having some appetizers and a glass of wine. Go have fun with your friends."

"Hmm."

Sofia started to turn away without another word, but then she spun back around. "Where's Grace tonight, anyway?"

"Writing. One of her weekly posts is coming out in the morning. She's finishing it up."

"Oh, well, tell her I say hi if you see her before I do," Sofia said, her tone light and friendly.

"How do you know I'm even seeing her tonight?"

"Aren't you?" Sofia countered, smirking.

"Yes," Tommy grumbled.

With a final smug smile, Sofia left him to rejoin her date.
