I pull him closer, pleading for him not to leave me, to stay awake and not go. “I love you, Parker, I love you. Please hold on, please don’t leave me.” The weight of Parker on me brings us both to the earth; blood spills from between his lips as his eyes begin to flutter.

“I love…” he chokes on the blood.

“Parker, no. Please. I love you. I’m so sorry. Please, please.”

He tries to grab my face, but his hand falls hard to his side. And right as Parker's eyes glass over and his chest stops moving, I know his heart is no longer beating; I feel a sharp prick into my neck. I look up and see Sebastian towering over me before it all goes black.
