Grabbing a condom from his bedside table, I watch in fascination as he slides it over the length of his erection. I don’t question the double protection. In fact, I applaud it, knowing it’s the safer bet all around. Though if I’m honest, I’m so turned on right now I probably would have let him slide into me bare. Something I probably would have regretted after the fact.

Scooting me farther up the bed, he settles between my thighs, the weight of him so delicious I damn near cry out when he presses me into the mattress.

“This is going to be quick. Then I’m going to take my time with you,” he promises, lining himself at my entrance.

I’m so primed that he doesn’t even have to touch me. I’m already dripping wet as he slowly begins to enter me.

“Fuck...” He groans as he fills me to the hilt.

It’s painful at first, the feeling of being stretched so full I swear I see stars. But eventually, my body begins to adjust and within maybe a minute, I’m arching up to meet him thrust for thrust, my orgasm building so fast and strong that when it hits me seconds later, I bite down on Archer’s shoulder to keep myself from screaming so loudly the whole freaking building would probably hear me.

He doesn’t slow his pace, pounding in and out of me so hard that all I can hear is the sound of his flesh smacking against mine.

But then he does something I don’t expect. He arches up so that he can look down at my face. At first, I want to look away, but then I see the look on his face, the way his entire expression contorts in pleasure, and instead of looking away, I hold his gaze.

My second orgasm builds in an instant—the sight of him above me, moving inside me, taking such pleasure from my body, it does something to me that I can’t easily explain.

“Archer,” I cry, the intensity mounting inside of me almost more than I can bear.

“Look at me,” he commands when my eyes flutter closed.

I do as he instructs, my eyes snapping back open.

“Let me watch as you come all over my cock.”

The words are no more than off his lips and I come apart beneath him, not once looking away as little whimpers escape my mouth.

My undoing seems to be his undoing, and he grunts loudly, spilling his release into the condom seconds later. A final thrust, a final groan, and he collapses down on top of me, and while he’s heavier than you would imagine, I don’t mind the weight of him. In fact, I feel pretty certain I could stay just like this for the rest of my life.

“Are you okay?” He pulls back once he’s had a chance to catch his breath and compose himself.

“Better than okay.” I smile up at him. “Are you okay?” I stupidly ask.

“Better than okay,” he repeats my answer, pressing a kiss to my mouth. “Give me a second.” He slides out of me and rolls to the side to dispose of the condom.

I don’t have time to miss the weight of him because he’s back on top of me in seconds, his lips finding mine.

“I hope you got a lot of sleep last night,” he murmurs against my mouth. “Because I plan on keeping you up very, very late.” He moves to my cheek, then my jaw before his lips find my neck. “I’m going to take my time kissing every inch of your body and then, I’m going to fuck you again, good and proper this time.”

“That wasn’t good and proper?” I let out a light laugh, having a hard time believing it gets much better than what I just experienced.

“Oh, Rory, that was just the warm-up.” He straightens, pulling me upright to tug my shirt over my head, quickly followed by my bra.

Any and all questions I might have had go straight out the window when he dips down and sucks my nipple into his warm mouth.

Nope, for once, I think I’m just going to shut up and enjoy myself.

And that’s exactly what I do.

Well into the middle of the night.

Until my body is spent and my mind is exhausted.

Until I can’t physically take any more, no matter how badly I want to.

Only then, when the quiet of the night settles around me. When the sound of Archer’s heartbeat beneath my cheek and his soft breathing fills my ears. Only then do I stop to overthink every decision I’ve made that’s led me here.

And you know what I’ve concluded just before the heaviness of sleep takes me under?
