“Oh, that’s the rule, is it?”

“I’m having it typed up and laminated as we speak.”

I chuckle and run a finger along his jaw. “I need to return the favor you granted me earlier.”

His eyebrows rise. I run my tongue briefly over my top lip, and his lips curve up.

“Maybe we should go now,” he says, “I think the party’s wrapping up.”

“Alex! No, we can’t sneak off. You’ll have to wait.”

He sighs. “You’re such a temptress.”

I lift up and kiss him, and he chuckles.

“Thank you,” he says. “For talking to Kait.”

“Oh, it was nice, I’ve been wanting to talk to her since she came here. She told me all your secrets.”

“Really?”

I give him a curious look. “Hmm, and now I’m wondering what you’re worried I’m going to discover. It can’t be worse than the bleached hair, surely?”

“God, no,” he says. “That was a great photo of me and Damon, though. I’m going to have a copy printed and framed for both of us.”

“I’m sure he’ll be delighted to be reminded of his worst hair day.”

He chuckles and spins me around, and I laugh, happy to be in the arms of the man I love.

It’s several hours later before we finally leave the party, as Alex wanted to wait until the end, to make sure everyone knew where they were staying, and that nobody needed any help.

We left Belle up at the house where she’s staying tonight, and traveled down in the cable car with Damon, who’s just made his way over to his own apartment alone. Alex is going over there tomorrow, and he’ll be spending the morning with him before the two of them make their way over to the church at three p.m.

“Belle said you’re welcome to join her in the morning,” Alex says as we let ourselves into Kip’s apartment. “She’d love to have you there while she gets ready.”

I sit on one of the dining chairs to take off my sandals. “That’s very sweet, but she’s got her bridesmaids, and Kait and Mae and Sherry, and probably half a dozen other people, too. No, I’ll be fine here. I might go up and have a swim, then I can take my time getting ready.”

“Okay. You don’t mind me leaving you?”

I smile, walk over to him, and begin to walk him backward. “Of course not. You’re the best man.”

“I hope you realize that’s an honorary title.”

I shake my head, guiding him back to the sofa, then push him so he falls backward onto his butt. “I’m convinced I got the best deal out of all the girls at the wedding.”

His brow furrows. “I’m not so sure about that.”

I toss a cushion onto the floor, then lower down between his legs onto my knees. “Why don’t we take a look?”

He gives a short laugh, then sighs as I undo his belt and slide down his zipper. “Um… it’s late, and I’m sure you’re tired. You don’t have to—” He stops as I look up at him.

“Alex,” I say patiently. “You’re gorgeous, I’m crazy about you, and I’ve been thinking about this all evening. You’re going to have to get used to the fact that I’m going to be a very demanding girlfriend.”

“Oh,” he says faintly.

I release his erection from his boxers, meet his eyes while I moisten my lips, then lower my head and take him in my mouth.
