“I’ll be right back,” I tell her, a wide smile on my face, before walking over to get the ridiculous amount of stuff we ordered in my arms then placing it in front of her.
She picks the Boeuf Bourguignon first, and when she takes her first bite of the beef, her eyes roll back in her head as she lets out a satisfied moan with a mouthful of the dish.
“Oh my god. This is literal heaven. Like an angel made this in heaven and sent it down here. I’m convinced.” Shoveling another bite into her mouth, she moans again.
“I’m glad you like it.”
We spend the next thirty minutes sampling everything in front of us, and ultimately, it’s no surprise that she loves the Boeuf Bourguignon most. After about thirty minutes of our buffet sample and stuffing our faces, I quickly toss the trash, and then we make our way to the games.
“No, we should probably skip the games. I would hate to beat you after you just gave me that delicious all-you-can-eat buffet.” She snickers, crossing her arms.
“Is that a... challenge, Sanders?” My eyebrow raises in question. “Cause if it is, then I’m up for it.”
“Then it’s settled then. Get ready for some ass whooping.” She says brazenly, nudging my shoulder.
Again, her guts and self-confidence.
“Put your money where your mouth is, Sanders. The loser signs up for the dunk tank. No take backs!” I tell her, pointing to the dunking booth full of water across the courtyard. She looks over at it, then back at me, and steels her jaw. This has danger written all over it, but for tonight at least, I’m willing to go to extra lengths to make Lily happy.
“Prepare to get wet.”
I smirk. “Nope, that’ll be you. Now... and later.”
“You’re a lost cause really.” She retorts, rolling her eyes.

Three rounds of darts and balloons later, I got my ass kicked by her, andthat’s how I end up in the damn tank, waiting to get dunked.
Lessons learned. That’s the last time I’ll ever underestimate all five-foot-seven of her.
“Maybe next time you make a bet with me, you’ll consider the outcome.” The smug grin hangs on her lips. Even with the crowd surrounding us, and the more than good chance that I’m about to get my ass soaking wet, I still love seeing her happy, even with a slight attitude.
I shrug, my smirk only growing wider. “You got lucky. Plus, you only won because I let you. One of us had to go down and I made the sacrifice.”
She laughs and I swear it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever heard. “No use crying over spilled milk and no take backs!”
I clap my hands together and open my arms wide. “Who said I was going to? Give me your best shot!” Lily squares her shoulder, then rears back and throws the bright yellow ball at the target, narrowly missing.
Thank god.
“Yesssss!” I yell, laughing when she sticks her tongue out at me.God, I never knew I’d be this excited about anything, let alone getting wet in a dunk tank.
Lily looks at me with pure determination in her eyes and prepares to throw the nextball.
I should’ve known better than to celebrate after the first miss, because the second time, she doesn’t.
She nails it squarely on the target, the dunking booth siren goes off and the board falls out from beneath me, plunging me into the water below.
My feet hit the ground and I push upwards, slinging the water from my hair and face before pulling myself out.
“Holy shit.” Lily pants through tears of laughter. She’s laughing so hard, her entire body shakes as she doubles over. “Oh God, this is the best thing I’ve ever seen. Liam Denver literally eating his words.”
I’m fucking soaked, head to toe, even my shoes are squishing with each step I take toward Lily, but it’s all worth it. Lily is happy and that’s all that matters.
Growling, I lean closer until my lips brush against the shell of her ear and whisper, “How about we skip the Ferris wheel so I can eat your pussy under the stars.”
Her body goes tight in my arms, and she stops thrashing. She looks up at me, her eyes wide and full of desire, before shuddering lightly. “Liam.” She breathes my name. It’s low and hoarse like my words have as much effect on her as they do on me.
