I can't help but wonder what it would be like to feel his rough hands all over me. A feeling of warmth blooms low in my belly, and I fight the urge to squeeze my thighs together. Instead, I clear my throat.

"I'll see you later," I tell my sister, giving her a quick hug. Then, I step out into the frosty night air, a smile spreading across my face as I follow Dean to the car.

Chapter three

Dean

"Wouldyouandyourwife like a booth or a table?" the hostess asks, her gaze flicking between Lily and me.

My wife.

A spark of something that feels dangerously close to satisfaction jolts in my chest at the idea.

My eyes instinctively move to Lily, and I watch as a blush creeps over her cheeks at the hostess's assumption. Then she opens her mouth like she's about to say something.

"Booth, please," I reply quickly before Lily can correct her.

Ava, caught up in her own world, twirls in circles beside Lily, her laughter ringing out amidst the cafe's chatter.

The hostess, seemingly unaware of the flush on Lily's face, offers a warm smile. "Great. Follow me."

As we weave through the bustling cafe, the scent of Lily's shampoo fills my nose. It's a mixture of strawberry and vanilla and a hint of something spicy. Like cinnamon.

Then I look down and let myself get lost in the sexy sway of her hips as she walks.

Lily's plus-sized curves are swallowed up by the heavy winter coat that I gave her earlier. And there's something about the sight that stirs something deep within me.

It's not just the way the oversized sleeves dangle past her hands or how the hem of the coat hits her at the knees.

It's the way she looks so natural and at home in my clothes.

Like she belongs there.

I suddenly have a strong urge to wrap my arms around her and claim her as mine.

The hostess leads us to a cozy booth tucked away in the corner.

"Is this table okay?" She asks us.

I nod. "It's perfect, thanks."

Lily tries to hand me my coat before she sits down, but I wave her off.

"Keep it, sweetheart." Then I bend down and press my lips to her ear. "It looks better on you anyway."

Lily's eyes widen at my comment, surprise flickering across her features as she looks up at me. It's the closest I've ever come to flirting with her. And even though I know I shouldn't, for some reason, I can't resist the urge to keep making her blush.

I slide in next to Ava while Lily sits across from us. But I don't miss the way she keeps my jacket draped over her shoulders.

"It's so busy in here," Lily comments as she looks around.

I set my gloves down on the seat next to me. "Yeah, it's always like this during the holidays. People come from all over for their Christmas Cookies. Locals say they make wishes come true."

"I know what I'm wishing for!" Ava cuts in suddenly.

"Oh yeah? What's that, princess?" I ask with a chuckle.

"A giant stack of pancakes!" Ava declares.
