Sawyer glided his hand along my leg, over the crease where it met my hip, and down to my clit. When he brushed the swollen, tender nub, I jerked at his touch.

He pushed in harder, circling and teasing while they continued to fill both my openings.

The combination of touches, the overwhelm of all of it, tore orgasm from me. I spiraled into climax, letting it wash over me and no longer thinking about each individual touch. It all felt so good. So right.

I could float in this cloud forever, riding this high.

I was vaguely aware of Sawyer moving his hand back to my leg, and the stutter of his grunts. Part of me registered Gage’s movements becoming more frantic. More jerky.

And I swore I felt them fill me in a new way as one of them came and then the other.

As the frantic need ebbed, we all sort of fell against each other. Slowly the world bled back in, but it was tempered with Gage’s weight against me and Sawyer’s breath on the top of my head.

We lay there for who-knew-how-long, catching our breath, before they finally slipped out of me, then we pulled apart long enough to clean up, and collapse in a proper cuddle pile in bed.

“None of this I have to go shit tonight, Sawyer,” Gage said. “You’re staying.”

“I’m staying,” Sawyer confirmed with a light huff of laughter.

I still didn’t have words. I was content to be pressed between them. To focus on how good it was to have them both here.

Whatever came next—and I was so looking forward to every minute of it—we’d all tackle it together, and it would be incredible.

Sawyer

The first day I drove into Haddarville, I couldn’t wait to leave.

Now, a month later, it felt like the closest thing to home that I’d had since I lost Tony.

I’d checked out of the motel a couple of days after making things right with Evie and Gage. It didn’t make sense to keep that room since we all found ourselves at his house or hers every night, depending on what we’d been working on that day.

But for the last couple of days we’d been on the road, driving Evie’s robot in the back of Gage’s SUV to Atlanta, for my friend Malcom to check out.

My car wouldn’t stand up to another trip like this. Not yet. But Evie had introduced me to Cash, the guy who owned the auto shop in town, and he’d been far more helpful in getting parts and knowing what to do with them than I’d found before.

We arrived in Cumming last night, and even though it wasn’t a much longer push to get to our destination, we’d been driving hard to get to Georgia and that seemed like far enough. Now, we were on our way to the testing arena Malcom had set up for this.

The energy in the car was tangible. I’d say I was as excited as Evie, but I couldn’t steal her thunder on something like this.

She glanced in back every time we hit a bump.

“It’s going to be fine. You’re going to do great.” Gage was starting to sound like a broken record.

“I know.” Evie straightened in the back seat again, facing forward. “I’m just so excited.”

Malcom was waiting for us outside when we arrived, with a dolly for us to wheel the bot inside on. Because we were going to be operating on a hard rubber floor, we didn’t want the tires to pick up any debris that might tear things up.

Typically the weapons and bent frames did that plenty fine on their own.

I made introductions all around, though all of us had talked several times over video, so it was as if Evie and Gage already knew Malcom.

When we walked into the building, a wave of the past hit me so hard I expected to stumble. This space was used for other things as well, including RC competitions, and the number of times I’d been here with Tony…

For so long, even thinking about it hurt. There was still a knot inside at being here, and I suspected like any scar, I’d notice it for a long time, but it wasn’t the same. I could look at then and now and see both with a fondness that warmed me from the inside out.

“How do you want this to work?” I asked when we had the bot in the cage.
