My heart thunders as I make my way through the gloomy warehouse, every step echoing ominously. My thoughts are consumed by one thing: rescuing Summer from the clutches of Thal. My need to protect her drives me forward.

This warehouse is a place steeped in memories. It’s where my father used to run his gang, and it’s here that he told me and my brothers that he was leaving me the mafia empire. The weight of that decision hangs heavy on my shoulders, but now is not the time for reflection; I have a mission to focus on.

“You two stick to the entrance,” I order the men, keeping my voice low and steady. “Remember, we need to find Summer before Thal knows we’re here.”

As they disappear, I feel a cold shiver down my spine. This place, once familiar, now feels like a deadly maze filled with shadows and secrets. It’s a race against time – every second we waste increases the danger Summer is in, and I can’t bear the thought of losing her.

Treading carefully, my eyes scan the darkness for any sign of her or Thal and his men. The adrenaline coursing through my veins sharpens my senses, and I can hear the faintest sound of movement. But there’s something else, something that stirs unease deep. A feeling that we’re being watched, that Thal is lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike.

“Boss,” Mark calls out, his voice hushed. “There’s a door over here. Looks like it’s been recently used.”

Nodding, I move forward.

We inch closer to the door, our weapons at the ready. I can feel the tension in the air, thick and suffocating, as we prepare to breach the room. My heart aches with worry for Summer, and I silently vow to do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

“Ready?” Steeling myself for what lies behind the door, I widen my stance.

“Ready.”

“Then let’s go.”

The door bursts open, revealing an empty room. There’s no sign of Summer or Thal, but something tells me we’re getting closer. The stakes have never been higher, and I can feel the weight of this mission bearing down on me. Summer is counting on me, and I will make Thal pay for what he’s done.

Getting seriously pissed off with this cat and mouse, I take action. “Thal! You can’t hide forever, you little prick.”

The air in the warehouse is thick with a suffocating tension, making each breath I take feel heavy in my chest. The darkness is an oppressive force, pressing down on me like the weight of the sins I’ve committed.

“Thal!” I shout again, challenging him to face me.

As we delve deeper into the labyrinth-like warehouse, the signs of Thal’s presence grow stronger – the faint scent of Summer’s perfume, the trails of fresh footprints in the dust-coated floor. But he remains elusive, hiding in the shadows like the coward he is.

There is only silence, broken by the distant creaking of the old building. Imagining Thal watching from the shadows, relishing in our torment, I won’t give him the satisfaction of breaking me. He knew what he was doing when he took Summer. He knows what this is doing to me.

“Thal, when I find you, I’ll make sure you never hurt anyone again,” I vow, my voice laced with venom. The darkness may be my enemy now, but soon, it will become my ally as I hunt down the man who dared to take Summer away from me.

My voice echoes through the abandoned warehouse, and I can feel a cocktail of emotions brewing inside me. The longer it takes to find Summer, the more desperate and anxious I become about what I’ll find.

My fingers curl around a door handle, and I take a deep breath to steady myself before swinging it open.

Summer is here, bound to an old metal chair. As she looks up at me, her eyes widen with relief and terror.

“Careful, brother,” Thal’s sinister voice taunts from the shadows. “You wouldn’t want anything to happen to your precious Summer, now would you?”

The darkness closes in around us, and I know we’re racing against time. As I prepare to face Thal once and for all, I’m caught between the desperate need to free Summer and the chilling realization that we may not all make it out of this alive.

CIARÁN

My eyes narrow, settling on Thal, who stands just a few feet away from me.

“Stay the fuck away from her,” I warn as he edges closer to Summer, my voice a low growl.

Thal smirks, taunting me.

“Or what? You’ll kill me?” he challenges. “You don’t have the guts.”

“Try me, asshole. But really, you came looking for a fight, didn’t you?”
