“I’m getting close,” he grunts. “Nikita, I’m—”

“Come inside me,” I moan desperately. “Come inside me, Leo. I want you to fill me up.”

Something feral overtakes Leo’s expression like he wants to claim me as his own. “Let me put a baby in you, Nikita.”

A whimper escapes me. He’s already done that… At least I know now that he wants one. God, I’ve never desired this man more. “Please,” I whine, “Fill me up.”

“Untie me,” he orders.

The moment I untie his hands, Leo grabs me by the waist and flips us over so he has me pinned against the mattress. He’s an animal, fucking me like he owns me. The snap of his hips and the harshness of his kisses overwhelm me in the best of ways.

“I’m going to make you the mother of my child,” he groans against my ear, his hot against my cheek.

I already am, is all I want to scream from the bottom of my lungs. But I push the thought back down so I can revel in this moment.

He comes inside me with a roar in the exact same moment I once again fly off the edge.

He holds me like he never wants to let go.

“Be my woman,” he says, his tone stern but his gaze gentle. “Be my woman, Nikita, and I will make sure you want for nothing.”

His offer makes my heart flutter. After all the shit I’ve been through, who could blame me for wanting someone so strong, so generous to take care of me? All I’ve ever wanted was for someone to love me. My mother never cared for me; my father has only ever been capable of his own selfishness. But when Leo says it, it feels like a vow. An unbreakable promise. He will make good on his word.

I want that. I want that more than words could ever describe. At this point, I don’t care what he does for a living as long as he never hurtsme. He’s frankly treated me better than everyone else in my life. Better than my parents, than my coworkers and friends.

“I’m all yours,” I tell him, and I mean every word.

I just need to work up the courage to tell him about the baby, too.

Soon. Eventually.

Chapter 26

Leo

“Follow my lead,” I tell her as we approach the practice building.

My good old friend Pavel stands just outside the door, looking as serious as ever. He crosses his arms when he sees me, then scowls the moment he spots Nikita to my right. He immediately holds a hand up and shakes his head.

“Ms. Belova, I have been given specific instructions not to let you into the building.”

Nikita doesn’t shy away. Instead, she takes a step forward and meets Pavel head on. “I’m only going to ask you once for old time’s sake—let us in and don’t let anyone know we were here. We just need to check on something.”

“I really can’t do that. I’ve been making too many exceptions lately as it is. You could get me in a world of trouble if you’re caught.”

I frown. “Too many exceptions? Who else have you been letting in here?”

Pavel presses his lips into a thin line, the color from his face momentarily draining. “Uh… No one?”

Nikita and I exchange a look, a silent conversation passing between us. I think she has the same idea as I do because she crosses her arms and mirrors Pavel’s stance. “You know, Christmas is just around the corner. Tell me, was your holiday bonus particularly large this year?”

Over the years, I’ve become incredibly skilled at reading people’s faces. There’s a minute shift in his expression, barely perceptible, but I can tell it’s there. It’s sleazy. Greasy. Leaves a bitter taste on my tongue. I can tell we’ve finally captured his attention. Money talks, after all. It always has and it always will.

“How much are you going to give me?” he asks, cutting straight to the chase. Typical sleazeball. No point in trying to be delicate about it. We all know what he wants.

Begrudgingly, I reach into my pocket and pull out my wallet, flipping it open to pull out the small stack of bills I have tucked away. I give him all my money. It’s peanuts to me in the grand scheme of things, but the sum total is probably more than he makes in an entire month.

Pavel makes a great show of counting each and every bill, relishing his victory. I don’t much care for it, mainly because he’s wasting our time. “Fine,” he says after a moment. “Go on inside. I won’t say anything.”
