In fact, I had suggested it just the other afternoon when Anh arrived in New York.

“Lily, don’t be racist!” Anh had huffed. “Just ‘cause we’re the only two Asian people you know, doesn’t mean we have to date!”

I threw my hands up in surrender. “Okay, okay, chill out, I was just sayin’.”

And THEN – when I got Anh settled in after she arrived at the penthouse – I went back 20 minutes later to check on her, only to find her and my bodyguard in a very passionate embrace. Fully clothed, but still a lot of face-sucking going on.

“HEY!” I yelled.

Anh screamed and jumped away, and Johnny blushed and grinned.

“I told you you should hook up with him, and you called me racist!” I said, pointing at her.

She blushed a deep pink. “I… I didn’t think you’d think it was… I didn’t think you’d like it…”

“I SUGGESTED it!”

“Well… I…”

“You need me for anything, Lily?” Johnny asked.

“Yeah – show my best friend a good time,” I said, and winked.

Johnny grinned. Anh went fire-engine red.

“Dinner’s in two hours,” I announced.

They showed up in time for dessert.
