“Okay,” I muttered. “What else?”
“Daniel Antonio is at that coffee shop close to your house, he is seeing someone there. Do you maybe want to kill him?”
I smirked. “You think I should pay him a visit?”
“A visit? You don’t mean you’re just going to show up in front of him and leave.”
“That’s exactly what I mean.”
“Why? Isn’t that dangerous?”
“Relax. He won’t recognize me, his brothers didn’t.”
“And what if he does?”
“Then we’ll do something about it. Don’t be boring and let me have a little fun.”
“Well be careful while having that little fun.”
“Someone would think you actually care about me.”
He snorted at my words.
“Who do you think I am, Yusuf? Bitch, this is Gideon, I don’t give two shits about you.” He snapped and I nodded with a mocking smile on my face. “Anyway, when you’re done ‘visiting’ him, come over so we can discuss.”
“Yeah yeah, bye.” I hung up as I proceeded to take a nice bath and dress up to see the man in my neighborhood.
I got to Hot and Warm coffee shop in exactly twenty five minutes. I trailed my eyes and found Daniel with a man who was typing on his computer. I smiled to myself. He was really here, so close to me.
Oh how I was holding on to my last ounce of self-control to not stab him about eight times, till he no longer moved under me.
I searched around for Lily, but she was nowhere to be seen. Maybe her boss did sack her after all.
A new barista came to me. She looked about eighteen to nineteen years old. I smiled at her and she smiled back immediately.
“What would you like, ma’am?”
“Water,” I said, taking a seat behind Daniel.
The barista stared at me almost in surprise. “Just water?”
“Yeah, just water.” She nodded and left to bring a cup of water. She was probably wondering ‘what weirdo comes from their house or wherever to drink water in a coffee shop?’
I sipped a little of the water as I kept on looking at Daniel Antonio who was seriously focused on whatever the man was showing him on his laptop. Gideon’s words came back to me; ‘what if he recognizes you?’
Would he really recognize me? None of his brothers did, not even the one who was apparently in love with me.
Still looking at Daniel, I tried to pick up my cup, but I accidentally hit it, causing it to spill over the table and down my clothes. I cussed as Daniel surprisingly stood up and faced me.
“Oh my, are you okay miss?” I nodded at his question as the barista came to me with a napkin. He collected the napkin from her and handed it over to me. I wiped my clothes while the barista cleaned the table.
“Thank you,” I told him and he smiled at me.
The barista left with the glass cup, probably to get me another one.
Daniel stared at me for a while and frowned, visibly creasing his eyebrows. Did he recognize me?
“You look so familiar.” He pointed at me and I leaned to him with interest and a smile on my face.
