Not. Complaining. One. Bit.

We dig into the pizzas.

"Do you like your job at the library?" Harrick asks.

"I love it. I may be slightly biased, but people who love books are the best people. I really enjoy interacting with members of the community, and we do some fun activities, too."

"Such as?" Eddie asks.

"We run lessons for seniors teaching them how to use computers, and we host a weekly kids reading hour."

Branum glances my way, and I give him a small nod to sayI haven't forgotten.

He and I have come up with a little plan, and considering Trevor owes me one, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it happen.

Once most of us finish eating, we retire to the den.

I sit next to Marsh, since Branum's cleaning the kitchen, which I think we all know is code for continuing to eat all the pizzas. I offered to help, but he gave me a kiss on the forehead and shooed me away. The bright twinkle in his eyes told me this night is going really well. I agree with him. It is.

I look at Marsh and smile. "So do you, um…have anyone?"

"No. I'm single."

"Oh. I'm surprised. You seem great."

"It's…tricky."

"You realize you saying that only makes me want to find out more."

He smiles a smile so strikingly similar to Branum's it makes me do a double take. "Let's just say I have some unconventional desires."

Part of me wants to find out what they are, but I don't want to make him uncomfortable. Plus, he's my boyfriend's brother, so there's probably a cap on how much I need to know about his love life andunconventional desires.

"Fair enough," I say, smiling diplomatically and trying to come up with another topic to move the conversation on to. "Are you into sports?"

"Smooth transition." He chuckles. "I like you, PJ."

"Thanks. I like you, too."

"And I like seeing my brother so happy. Both of them, actually."

Harrick and Eddie are canoodling on the other sofa.

I lower my voice. "You'll find someone. Hey, if I can, anyone can."

"Are you putting yourself down, baby?" Branum perches himself on the sofa arm. "Because we've discussed this, and if it turns out that you are, punishments will be involved."

"And that'd be my cue to leave."

Marsh gets up and Branum takes his place.

He returns with Monopoly, and the five of us spend the rest of the night wheeling and dealing and talking and laughing.

I can't remember the last time I had so much fun with a group of people.

Oh, wait, yes I can—Never.

This has turned into so much more than meeting Branum's brothers. It's turned into one of the best nights of my life.
