I pick it up and type in a search for the club, pulling up the website.I click through to the terms and conditions and scan the wording."Look."I pass the tablet back to him.
"And there it is," he says.

"Do you want me to come with you?"
I look at him, surprised that he's asking."Are you allowed to?"
He nods."I saw it in the T&Cs."He passes the tablet back to me so I can see.
I scan a little further down, surprised to find a list of approved supernaturals, and that cupids are on the list."Huh, I didn't see that before."
"I don't suppose you had much reason to look," he points out."You weren't dating a cupid then."
"No, I wasn't.Mind if I book now?"
"Be my guest.My last lecture finishes at six, is that going to be okay?"
"I've made it this long, I can wait a few more hours."I click through to the booking page and start to put our info in."I need my purse."I lean over to grab it.
"You can have my card if you want?"
"Oh, no.We're only having to go to this because of me, I'm the one paying.And that goes for if we ever go again too," I say.
Darius chuckles."All right.But I get to buy the food after."
I frown."Is this okay as our first proper date?"
"It only counts if we say it does, but as far as I'm concerned, it is.You need to feed your magic or you're only going to start struggling more.We should do this, and then we can go on some more fun dates."
"I like the sound of that," I admit, clicking through until I'm at the part he needs to fill in."You need to put in your full name and date of birth."
He raises an eyebrow."They're thorough."
"They'll check our IDs at the front door too.Or they did when I went before, I'm pretty sure they'll do that again."
"I suppose it makes sense with what goes on there."He fills in the form and hands it back to me."How should I dress?"
"It's a club, so erm, clothes?I don't really know.I wore a dress last time, some people wear less."
"I think I'll pass on that."
I finish booking and paying."Okay, all done."I take a deep breath."What if this doesn't work?"
"Then we'll figure it out," he promises, reaching out and taking my hand in his."Try not to worry too much about what will happen if it doesn't work.That might be why you've not managed to figure it out yet."
