Once his boots hit the tarmac, Gray followed his team over to a waiting Suburban and they all climbed inside. Getting into op mode, he checked his Glock and secured the tactical vest he wore.

Beside him, Zane was tapping away on his laptop. “Did you kiss her?” he asked, not bothering to look up.

“Oh, hell yeah, he did,” Inda exclaimed in delight. “Lots of tongue, too.”

Gray merely grunted in answer.

“You better visit her in Indiana,” Ryland commented.

“Uh, guys,” Zane said, and everyone looked over. “Tillman just left his house.”

Ryland and Harper had tracked Lester Tillman, one of the cogs in The Agency’s wheels, down not long ago. A conversation Ryland had recorded between Tillman and the mysterious Mr. Smith, whose true identity they still didn’t know, mentioned the Merciers as well as Cipher and The Cardinal. Cipher and The Cardinal were still both a mystery to his team, but at least now the Merciers were on their radar.

Zane had tapped into Tillman’s security feed earlier, so they’d been keeping a close eye on him. With so many nebulous connections, they never knew when he would come in handy again.

“So, where are we going?” Saint asked from the driver’s seat of the SUV.

“Gimme a sec.” More tapping. “I have to hack into his car’s GPS system.”

They all waited, knowing it would take him mere seconds.

“Okay, he’s headed onto the 5 North and…” Zane snapped his fingers. “Nav system says his destination is 111 North Beach Street.”

“Is that a residence?” Braxton turned around in the front passenger seat to address Zane, waiting patiently for an answer.

Zane cursed under his breath. “A really busy office building. Which means cameras, witnesses and plenty of eyes that we don’t want on us.”

“Fuck,” Saint growled.

“What’s the plan then?” Ryland asked. “Because we’re getting this fucker.”

“We can’t all go in,” Braxton stated. “They’ll figure out it’s us.”

“And if they know we’re still alive we won’t have the upper hand any longer,” Inda added.

“Exactly,” Braxton said.

“I’ll go in. Alone,” Gray offered. “I can make it look like an accident.”

Braxton considered his words. “Are you sure?”

“No one knows me. It makes the most sense.”

“Maybe he should take one of us as back up. Just in case,” Zane said.

“I’ll go,” Inda volunteered. “I’ll wear my sunglasses and a headscarf, stay away from the cameras. Just in case Demon needs support.”

Braxton nodded his approval. “Keep your face covered.”

“This isn’t my first rodeo, Pharaoh.” She flashed him a sugary sweet smile.

“Doesn’t mean you can get cocky, Bruja. Stay off the radar and let’s hope Demon won’t need back up.”

“I won’t,” Gray said. “I’ll get the job done.”

All Gray needed to do was get Lester Tillman alone. From what Ryland had told him about the man, the weasel wouldn’t stand a chance.

This op was as good as done.
